Introducing myself...

Introducing myself...

I was an avid LIW/09er, just signed up for LIF a few days ago. Though I'm not officially TTC yet, I figured it wouldn't hurt to start learning and getting information.

My story: I married my DH on 10/09/09. I decided to go back to school last year so I am finishing up my first year of a 2 year nursing school program (2 weeks left, YAY!) DH has been dying to start trying since we got married but school put it off a bit (there's a bunch of reasons we wanted to get it done right away) Through several arguements and the baby conversation causing a lot of tension (DH agrees that I finish up school asap, but desperately wants a baby. he seems to believe we can time things perfectly to have the baby right after I finish, or that I wouldn't have a problem finishing school on schedule despite having a baby. I obviously disagree and think he's delusional, lol. )

We managed to compromise on starting to try in December. We figure even if it happens on the first try (which I very well know it may not) I'll only be 5 months along when I finish. I do admit it makes me nervous though because I realize things can happen, but I'm trying not to stress about it. I am really excited, just hopefully i can finish up school without problems. Anyone else in school or had been pregnant in school?

I also have another question: I'm on BC, so when should I stop taking it if we want to start trying in December?

Welcome! I was 09 bride too, in fact we share a wedding date!Chat Icon I was Moochswifey on LIW.

As for when to stop bc it can take up to 3 months (sometimes longer) for your cycles to regulate after coming off. That being said it is totally safe (and possible) to get pregnant right away. BC is not one of those things that you need to wait until it's out of your system, the day after you take that last active pill it's gone.

Good luck!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yes I remember you! I changed my name bc I'm sneaky Chat Icon

Yes I do know things will "work" as soon as you stopped taking it, I have just been on it for years and never went off, so I didn't know if it was better to be off a few months to let your body get back in the swing of things lol

Welcome and tons of Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for you.

If you want to start trying in Dec I would take the last set of BCP in August. That way you can see how your body regulates itself for 2-3 months after BCP.

Re: Introducing myself...

09er here too!! Welcome and good luck!!

Every doctor differs as to when you should go off BC. I went off over a year ago for different reasons but if I had waited I probably would have done 6 months prior.
