intralipid question
i have a question ( well, when do I NOT have a question)
i need intralipid IV this cycle. Home nurse service wants $450 for it, so they are out. Linda wants $300, she is out too. Moreover, my close relative is a nurse, so she can administer, all I need is a medication.
So here comes the question: when Kraupners delivers the med, is it ready to be used? I heard a few ppl mentioning something about mixing something into the medication Obviously, I will not be able to do it, since administration will be at home. Any input? thanks

Re: intralipid question
No mixing. It all comes in an IV bag along with the tubes/needles that are used to administer the IV. It can be used as soon as its delivered. No waiting needed

Re: intralipid question
Yes, it can sit for a couple of days. Mine sat for longer! If your friend is a nurse then you probably dont' need the administration kit, but just the tubing, assuming that your friend has all the needles and what not. I usually just ask Krauppners for the tubing or if you're going into Dr. B's ask linda for it too. If the nurse doesn't normally do alot of IV's and doesn't have all the "stuff" at home then just get the kit so you'll know whats in it for next time.
Good Luck.

Yes, just make sure that it is refrigerated. And take it out about an hour befre you need it so it comes to room temperature, otherwise it will feel too cold in the IV.
