Re: interviewing the Ped. today.. Help
Is interviewing the pediatrician standard practice? I have never interviewed a doctor I've seen but I am very picky before I go to one - I always research online and make sure I know people who have been there.

Well you have to pick a doctor for your child b4 you give birth. The hospital will ask who to send reports and stuff to and also your ped will decide when the baby is well enough to go home. I don't really feel comfortable saying "interviewing" a doc but I guess going to meet with them and asking how they work is standard practice.

Re: interviewing the Ped. today.. Help
We just did this last night, and I totally blanked, but once I got home wished that I had asked what the process is after this meeting. As in, how do I go about telling them I am "picking" them, etc.

I dont think u have to tell them u are picking them ... u just list them as ur ped on the forms for the hospital and the hospital notify ur doc if they are affiliated with the hosp. Or you can just call a few weeks b4 u go into labor and let them know that you are expecting to deliver soon and you will be notifying the doc once the baby is born.

I went today and was told that I let my OB know who my ped will be and then they will give all forms to the hospital and the hospital nurses will call the ped.
