I started last week at 36 weeks. That one wasn't too bad, like a Pap.

Mine does them at 37 weeks. But at 36 weeks if "you" complain of cramping they will give it to you then.
IMO they don't hurt. Some girls say they do. I look forward to them to know if I've soften or dialted.
Basically what they do is insert their finger into your cervix to feel how thinned out it is yet.
Just make sure you relax. You'll be fine!

Doctor said I'm starting mine next week at 35 weeks. I am excited - not because of the exam  - but because its a sign to that the baby is coming soon!

I had one at 36 weeks and it was just like any regular exam. Maybe even quicker.

I hate that I have to wait until 37 weeks. I will beg for one sooner.
I just scheduled an appt when I am 36 weeks and I'm asking for an internal. I made the appt. with the Dr. who I know will do it!

Mine starts them at 37 weeks but will do one at 36 if I asked. They didn't hurt, but I did bleed alittle after sometimes.

I had one at 35 weeks because I was complaining of pressure.
I have one scheduled for tomorrow at 38 weeks --- I'm so nervous! I just want the doctor to say "oh, gee, look at that. U're ready to go. Let's have a baby NOW"
As far as pain - it's just like a pap, perhaps slightly more uncomfortable....not unbearable.

Which doctor is that?? Will they let you know if they are doing the internal, or do you have to ask??
