Installing Sinks

Is this hard? lol

We want to replace our chipped white sink with a new stainless steel. We looked at the size we needed this weeked at Lowes and the one we liked was 240!! And the Faucet we liked was 120!! So for under $400 we can get what we want!

I dont see it being hard, but my dear sweet husband can get frustrated at times when he is doing house work!! I know the first thing to do is shut off the water!! lol. Has anyone done this before? Is is hard to do?

How is it mounted? Over or under the counter. Most formica counters are over, most granite are under.

Under mounting is a little bit harder to do.

ETA: Home Depot used to carry a book, Home Depot's Home Improvement 1-2-3. It explains it (I think, my copy is packed up or I'd check) and gives a rating as to difficulty level.

Over is a lot easier.

Make sure your sinks holes line up with whatever faucet you pick out. They usually do. If you have an extra hole they have little covers for them.

You might even want to check out the classes your Home Depot/Lowe's is currently offering. I think I've seen sink installation before. It might help to see it done first.

My DH is not the handiest do it yourselfer, but he was able to replace the sink and faucet fairly easily, and they look great. the directions that came with the sink and faucet were very clearly written.
