Infant with a cold-Did I do the right thing?

Last Sat night @ 1am DD had a fever of 101.3 (internally) I gave her tylenol and it went down. Sunday she had a slight fever of 100, since then, no fever. In the beginning of the week she has snot pouring out of her nose, by Wed she was MUCH better, happy, eating etc. She still has a tiny bit of snot. I have been using the nasal aspirator and saline drops.

BUT, she is now coughing. It sounds like a dry cough to me and it seems to be mostly at night (we have a humidifier in her room). I am sitting here listening to her cough on the monitor and it is freaking me out.

I never called the doctor because the cold seemed mild to me after her fever broke, but now I am kicking myself and worried she is developing some cough...

Do you think she is coughing b/c of post nasal drip? That is what I think...everything I read has told me you need to worry if the baby is coughing like a barking seal, which she is not. She seems fine, other than the cough....

I guess I am looking for reassurance or yell at me b/c I am an idiot!!!!

ETA: DD is almost 6months.

I just took DS to the pedi today for the same thing. He woke up Sunday with a snotty nose and sneezing. I figured it was his allergies. By Tuesday he was just snotty. Wed he started with a dry cough. Mainly at night. Thursday he was coughing more. Worse at night. He only had a low grade fever once during the whole thing. Friday morning he was tugging on his ear. Pedi said he is teething really bad. Gums are a swollen mess. Ears, throat, and chest are all good. The runny nose is common with teething and that can lead to a cough. The sneezing led the dr to believe he may have a slight cold on top of it all. It is going around...Hope she feels better soon. We are doing the humidifier too. Saline drops at night. He is still a happy little baby!

Sounds like a cold with post nasal drip. We all have it at my house right now. If she appears to have trouble breathing, the cough gets worse etc. I would bring her to the ped.
