Infant Meds dosing - CVS brand

So we use motrin for my older two kids

but we have been using infant tylenol for my now 11 month old.

I KNOW the dosing changed recently.

And I am usually pretty good at this stuff and usually dont understand what is to be confused about Chat Icon Chat Icon

So....
The old bottle (CVS brand concentrated Ibuprofen) we just finished had the chart starting at 12lbs (1.25 mL) and 18-23 lbs (1.875 mL) blah blah blah..i get it...EASY....

BUT:
My DH ran out to get a new bottle and it says CVS INFANTS' Acetaminophen.

AND even though it says "INFANT" the chart doesnt begin until 2 yrs old Chat Icon Chat Icon
How can infant meds not begin until 2 yrs old? (well it says "Under 2 yrs or 24 lbs - ask a doctor)

I can see Childs' Acetaminophen beginning at 2 yrs but infants?!?! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

what is the deal!?!?

I believe the issue is that they want you to consult the ped for dosage. Someone posted this link for a dosage chart. I can't vouch for the source but it was in agreement with the dose my ped gave us so I bookmarked it for future reference.

I don't get it either. I had to call the Dr. last night because DD has an ear infection and she was screaming! I felt so bad for her, i wish I had the ear infection instead of her. The nurse said I could give either tylenol or motrin. DD is 2 months but the motrin said for infants 6 months or older. So I gave the tylenol.
