Re: Inappropriate pics on fb. Say something or mind my business
I have seen this too and it blows my mind. A parent posting pictures of their pretty young daughters in a gorgeous soaking tub with bubbles, etc. Bubbles covering them but still found inappropriate. I found it inappropriate because pedophiles would seriously enjoy such pics. But I would never comment.

Thanks everyone. I did myob but others did not. I guess she got a couple of messages because her fb post today was sorry didn't mean to.upset anyone with yesterday's pic, I took it down and will use more discretion in the future.
I'm glad she took it down
I really believe that it should be illegal for parents to do that to being with. Posting half naked pictures of your kids for the world to see when they can't consent (or even grasp the concept of the internet) should be illegal. Some parents think it's harmless but those images are there forever (even if you remove them). We shouldn't be allowed to do that to our kids. What if they don't want their naked baby butts on the internet when they are older? Yeah, some parents think it's cute now but what if it makes them feel violated? How do you give them back their sense of privacy?
I highly doubt they will grow up and think their privacy was violated for some half naked pictures of them when they were tiny LOL. I have umpteen pictures of me in the tub or running around naked from when I was very young. I have never felt violated and I don't think I was violated by the people who developed the pictures. Silly.
You may think it's silly but someone else might not. It shouldn't be our choice to make. The images are of a person and that person should be the one to decide how much of their private life is made public. You never know what will make someone feel violated which is why we shouldn't be making decisions that are irreversible.
I feel violated if someone posts a picture of me on FB at a wedding with drunk eyes and a shiny forehead. I certainly don't want my bathtub pics as a baby out there. Your level of comfort is obviously different then mine but everyone being so different is why it should be up the individual to decide.
The individuals in these scenarios are children. I'm responsible for making all kinds of assumptions for them regarding their health and wellbeing and many of them are irriversible, many of which they may question later on. Posting a cute picture of them in the tub is the least of my concerns.
And I'm certainly not going to allow the fringe of society (not you, the perverts that people are concerned with) scare me from celerating the cuteness of my kids in an innocent and sweet moment in a pic. I'm not going to let them take that. Otherwise I would probably never post any pics of my kids, or , better yet, post pics of them only in a burka. Pediphiles can be looking at your kids anywhere. It's a scary thought and while I take measures to vigalently protect my kids, refraining from posting a bath picture or a bathing suit picture offers them no incremental safety.

There is a difference between "sexy" pictures versus pics of your kids in the tub being silly. I don't know if the picture you describe was "sexy" pic or not, but if it was, then no, I would not post it. But I probably wouldn't take a picture like that to begin with. Not because of pedophiles but because I don't like.

Vent away! You're right that she should use more discretion, and maybe she got the message from those others you mentioned. I think you should be able to vent about it here

You could always be passive aggressive and report it .
I always feel bad for the children when this happens. I had an embarrassing photo when I was younger (don't we all), but I really didn't like it, so I took it and threw it away when I got older. I'm sure my mom wasn't happy, but I don't care. I am thankful that there was no social media then.
French police warned the public recently that grown-up children can sue their parents over photos on social media. The parents can then get a fine or time in jail.

I wouldn't post it but the diaper pics are the same as kids in a diaper commercial. I don't think anything wrong with that.
The bath pics I wouldn't bUT like others said I wouldn't say anything !

Inappropriate pics on fb. Say something or mind my business
Ughh.....i get tweaked whenever I see my friends and family posting naked toddler/kid photos. While we all have them in the privacy of our own home, I don't think they are appropriate to share. With that being said....there are family and friends that have NO picture filter when sharing and I just ignore them. With digital capabilities this day and age people can take any clothed up kids face and plop it on a naked kid and sell it to the sickos of the world. That is the sad reality we live in today and not something I would start an argument with friends or family over.

Ehh... Im more irritated by the idiots that post pics of their kids in car seats with belts twisted, loose, or in a booster way too soon.

What boggles my mind is why parents think it's ok to take these type of photos if you don't think it's socially acceptable to share them with friends and family.
