In regards to a recent car accident in Queens,

how does one have their license suspended NINE times?

Wouldn't there be a red flag after 2 or 3?

If you don't know to what I am referring, see here

And only 24 yrs old! He couldn't of even had a license for 9 yrs?! So a suspension more than once a year. Scary.

I hadn't heard of this story. So sad. That kid should never be given a license again.

Having a license suspended is not going to stop a person like this from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Oh, I completely agree. But how on earth does it happen NINE times? I mean, at some point, doesn't the dmv say enough.

The only thing to stop people like this is to jail them.
Even that is not a deterrant.
People like this are so incredibly selfish, they just don't care about anyone else.

I don't get it either (giving them a license over and over).

If you've followed any of Danirellas threads though the "system" just doesn't make any kind of sense except aggravation.

I agree.
I once had a Japanese boss who had his license suspended for excessive speed. He claimed the car was too fast. Um, yeah. Got clocked doing 80 in a 35.
He was ranting about how it is a right to drive, he needed to drive with clients to meetinfs etc.
Once I got my jaw up from the floor, I told him that having a driver's license is a priviledge, not a right.
Very big difference.

In regards to a recent car accident in Queens,

I had a client who's son had a suspended license in NY so he 'moved' him to FL then came back to NY after that was suspended and back and forth he went each time getting a new license. Attorneys took care of most of it for him. I wanted so badly to suggest he be a man and teach his son what he was doing was WRONG but he didn't care. He added him as a driver to our commercial policy which ironically was nationwide so I saw him every time he changed his license *sigh*

DWIs for at least two!

In regards to a recent car accident in Queens,

It isn't that he got his license back after it was suspended multiple times. Once you have an offense that causes your license to be suspended, it is suspended until the time period is up. But, if you continue to drive during that time and are convicted of another offense, your right to drive is again suspended. So if his license was suspended 9 times, he had 9 separate offenses that caused his license to be suspended over and over, even though he never got it back. KWIM?
He should be jailed, since it is perfectly obvious that he will continue to ignore the suspensions and has no regard for human life.

Re: In regards to a recent car accident in Queens,

The majority of people who DH used to pull over had either no license at all or a suspended license.
And insurance? What's that?
It was insane.
