Car Insurance rates for Queens people
Will my rates go up drastically from Suffolk to Queens when I finally tell them we've moved?

Definitely. About 30% give or take.
My rates dropped nicely going from Queens to Nassau.

Taking a class will give you 10% off certain parts
I think the insurance rise is mostly due to higher car theft rates as well as more accidents, potholes, etc.
I think Queens has one of the highest car theft rates in the country.

Mine went up about $25 a month. The agent even decreased the listing of the number of miles I drive per year.

Not necessarially. Some of the highest zip codes to insure are parts of Queens Village, Hollis, Oakland Gardens, Bayside, eastern Queens towns. Since these towns have plenty of "rich folk"... car thiefts are very common.

My car insurance actually went UP... moving from Sunnyside (5 mins from Manhattan)... to Oakland Gardens (5 mins from Nassau County).

they are totally totally ridiculous...
im in ozone park and the rates are just horrendous!!!
my mom pays close to 6K!!!
thats for 2 cars, my brother is 21, but still....
