In complete shock..and scared..Mom's of 2 under 2, help!!! lol

I am in hiding for now, but I took a test today and it came out vaguely positive. I say vaguely because the second line was a little faint, but there none the less. AF is due tomorrow, but I started spotting on NYE, and then it disappeared. The same thing happened to me with DS.

This is obviously unplanned...so was DS, hence the screen name lol. We were planning on waiting until DS was 2 to start TTC.

So now, I have an 11 month old and probably another on the way, and I am freaking out!!! My DS is very clingy...he wants Mommy 24/7, and to top it all, I was on bed rest with my first pregnancy for a shortened cervix ( not incompetent, but the length kept fluctuating), so I am so scared of what will happen with my DS if I have to go on bed rest again.

I have so many questions and concerns, I don't even know where to begin....but first of all, do I have to stop BFing???

Anyone want to share any experiences with 2 under 2, and especially if you were on bed rest for any portion. TIA

I am going to call my OB Monday to confirm, but I am pretty sure I'm the newest member of the club. Chat Icon

First, Congratulations!

I don't really have any advice since I am not a mom of 2 under 2. But I will tell you to try not to worry just yet. Alot can happen with your DS between now and then. He will be 20 months by then and probably alot more self sufficient so probably not so clingy.

Finally, just try to have a peaceful and happy 9 months. Chat Icon

Congrats! Every pregnancy is different, so you may not have the same issues with this one. I didn't breastfeed but, I know a women who had three children and breastfed throughout her last two pregnancies. She said her supply went down at points but she was still able to breastfeed.

Congrats! I had a surprise pregnancy when DS was 8 1/2 months old. I was on bedrest with DS for PTL and a shortened cervix towards the end of my pregnancy and history repeated itself again the second time around (except I was in early labor for weeks on end!). I had to get extra help from family (which was tough since everyone lives out of state) since I couldn't do anything. I felt bad that I wasn't able to do stuff or take DS anywhere, especially the playground. Whenever I was alone with DS and was having a tough time, nickelodeon and dvd's helped a lot to keep him entertained!

Congrats!!

I found out I was preg with DD when DS was 11 months... I was scared/worried/upset because she was totally not planned. I never wanted 2 under 2, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

I LOVE having them so close in age. DS and DD are the best of friends. They play together, take care of each other, are concerned when the other one is not around... they are just the cutest.

I know it's hard right now to think of how you will handle it all, but you will, and will come to learn that 2 under 2 is the best! Chat Icon

oops pregnancies are my specialty as well (with ds i was on the pill, and this time, well it wasnt planned)... i found out i was preg with ds when i was 7 months preg and i continued to nurse him until he was 10 1/2 months (at that point my ped decided to switch him to whole milk)... my supply was starting to dip at around week 16 and ds started to reject it as well... from what i was told the hormones can change the taste.. i am not going to lie, it was painful during those first few weeks, but doable.. i would ask your ob though, especially if you have a history of being on bedrest for any issues because nursing causes the uterus to contract...

DC#2 was unplanned and we got our BFP when DS was a year old. I had a horrible prgnancy with DC #1. I was diagnosed with hyperesmisis and was attached to an IV 24-7. I was violentally vomiting all day/everyday. If you ever had food poisioning,,,this was 1,000 times worse.

Pregnant with DC#2..SAME thing except WORSE! I was a walking puking machine..low blood pressure, in an out of the hospital. Now..not only was I attached to an IV pole..but I also had HEAVY 12 month old on my hip.

You go in survival mode and you just make it work. You have no choice. Thankfully I have a very supportive family and had lots of help..but when your DC wants their mommy,,,you have no choice but to be there for them.

It's scary when something is unplanned..but the end results is amazing! Congrats!
