Implantation Cramping

I am 5dp3dt and today, I have quite a bit of cramping in my uterus area. It's definitely uncomfortable and almost feels like AF cramping. It's been pretty steady now since late this morning. I don't want to read too much into it, but what could this be? Is it normal? Or should I be concerned that it's something else?

I definitely had cramping after ET. I can't remember what day it started, but basically I was convinced that AF was starting...she never came and my beta was positive, so try to hang in there! Chat Icon

I didnt have IVF but I DID have some pretty bad AF cramping right before i got my bfp. So dont worry too much - it could be a really good sign.

Edit to correct...sorry I meant to say I DID have bad cramping before my bfp.. sorry Chat Icon

The cramping has been consistent ALL day. It actually hurts a bit and feels just like AF cramps. I am almost scared that AF might be on her way Chat Icon

just looked this up for you.. Chat Icon - hopefully some of it will reassure you Chat Icon

Implantation bleeding or menstrual period?
Implantation bleeding normally occurs a week to a few days before your period would normally start. Spotting that occurs around a week after ovulation is likely implantation bleeding; whereas, spotting that occurs very close to the time that your period would normally start may not be. A normal menstrual cycle generally starts off light and then gets heavier. Spotting can sometimes be the sign of an early period. If this is the case, the spotting will pick up to heavier bleeding. If you have spotting right around the time your period would normally start, it can be more confusing. You will need to take the wait and see approach or take a pregnancy test to determine pregnancy.

What if I feel like my period is about to start?
If you have had spotting and think it might be implantation bleeding you may be paying very close attention to your body. If you are trying to get pregnant, the good news is that early pregnancy symptoms feel very similar to the start of your period. If you are pregnant you may begin to notice symptoms of early pregnancy right around the time your period would normally start and sometimes sooner than that. If you suspect pregnancy you can test for pregnancy as early as ten days after ovulation.

Re: Implantation Cramping

Do you girls think I should call the RE about this cramping? It's still here this morning. Or do you think it's "normal"?

I'm going with normal (but what do I know, I'm not there yet Chat Icon Chat Icon ). Seriously though, it sounds like a bunch of ppl have gotten cramping around now and some of them have said it's lasted until they've gotten their BFP.
Maybe you can do a search on "IVF cramping" and see what comes up- or do an X-post on PG to this thread and see what they say. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Mine has subsided. I would say if it doesn't let up or go away I would call. That was my plan for today if they didn't go away. What is the harm in letting them tell you it is normal, right? I hope you feel better and please keep me posted.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Implantation Cramping

Thanks, girls Chat Icon I know I can always count on you!

The cramping isn't as intense as yesterday, but I definitely feel "AF" like - just that overall crampy feeling. Maybe I'll give the nurses a call in a bit and ask.

If I had my ER on 7/15 and ET on 7/18 when would AF be due? I THINK on 7/29 (2 weeks from ER)....

I never get cramps this early before AF (6 days before AF is due). I'm hoping that's a good sign Chat Icon

Re: Implantation Cramping

Well, cramps are still here, and I actually was a bit lightheaded this morning (that really could be anything). We'll see what next week brings when I go for my beta (if I don't POAS first!)

Re: Implantation Cramping

I also had cramping that also felt like AF but remember one thing that progesterone might give you those as well (it's eveil) but the timing is perfect so I would hope it is implanatation cramping....

I got my BFP at 9DPO so you might start testing soon (if you don't wait for your beta)........

GL to you!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Really? Progesterone could give you such AF like cramping? I have been on progesterone suppositories since last Saturday (4x/day) and haven't had any cramping until yesterday (5dp3dt). Would it take that long for the progesterone to kick in and give me cramps?

My cramps are less today, but it still feels "different". The boobs are hurting a bit too. I haven't had any spotting either; not on progesterone. Af is due around 8/4, so I'll just wait and see.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

Re: Implantation Cramping

I'm not sure about the progesterone suppositories, I've always been on the PIO's. As long as I was on progesterone, I knew I wouldn't get AF. Not sure if that's true with the suppositories or not.
