Re: Implantation Bleeding
This usually happens around the 5th week of pregnancy. Some signs are cramping and slight spotting usually brownish or pink. When I had this it actually scared me and I called the DR but she said it is perfectly normal.

Re: Implantation Bleeding
I actually always understood implantation bleeding to be part of the process when the egg implants in the uterus after fertilzation. This would happen within two weeks after ovulation, and you probably wouldn't get a BFP at this point...

Re: Implantation Bleeding
That's what I thought as well, hopin4baby - that it would happen between 7 and 21 DPO. BFP would come after implantation.

Re: Implantation Bleeding
BFP comes before implantation. I knew I was pregnant when it happened. I guess it depends on who early you test. I know I was pregnant at four weeks and the implantation bleeding happened right before week six according to my doctor.

I googled implantation bleeding and the articles say that it happens 6-12 days past ovulation, when the fertilized egg implants in your uterus. Usually right after that (a day or two) you will get a BFP. I don't think you can technically have it at 5 weeks, your egg would have implanted long before then. But obviously when you're PG you can have all kinds of bleeding and other weird stuff

I don't know why the doctor would tell me that then??? I have also read several posts on the pregnancy board about implantation bleeding at 5 weeks. I personally would trust my doctor over an article on the internet.

I figured it out. You count the weeks of your pregnancy by the date of your last period. So since some people don't ovulate till day 15 plus another 12+ days for implantation equals atleast four weeks if not more. So technically you can get a BFP before implantation because your body is producing the hormones from day one.

Everyone is different. When the embryo implants that may cause what are called blood lakes to form--where the blood vessels in the lining of your uterus are disturbed so they bleed. The blood can last for 1 day(I have only had this once and been PG multiple times)
As far as timing. Implantation typically happens 6-12 days after O but the blood can take a while to work out putting you between 4-5 weeks the way a pregnancy is dated. HTH

Same here, only AF wasn't due for two more days.

Re: Implantation Bleeding
Different people chart pregnancy differently. Some people count day 1 when you get AF, therefore when you don't get it the following cycle you are "4 weeks" PG. Some people count from the "ovulation date" so when you don't get AF you are "2 weeks" PG. This is from what I understand... XOXOXO Kitty
