I'm scared, getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow....

I'm being knocked out, but I am so scared of the pain afterwards. I wasn't even this nervous for my 2 c-sections.

the pain is not bad compared to other things...u will probally get prescribed something and you will be resting...remember, get extra gaus (sp) pads from the dentist...

They will probably give you Vicodin for the pain after.

i'd actually prefer to have them all out at once! i have to see an orthodontist (i think thats what they're called) for my impacted ones and then go back to my reg dentist to have my other ones taken out. i'd prefer one shot, thats it its done! but i have to have the pain twice.

I had all 4 taken out at once. Once the anesthesia wears off, it will hurt, but look at it this way: it will only hurt once. It wasn't horrendous, just prepare to eat a lot of soft foods for the next 4 or 5 days. Macaroni & cheese, smoothies, etc.

I wouldn't have done it any other way. You'll be fine. I'm sure if you can get through a c-section, this will be a piece of cake. Good luck!

It wont be that bad compared to childbirth! Not that Ive had kids but something tells me thats a little worse!

Stock up on some slimfast cause you wont be able to eat much, and lots of gauze.

I had that done a couple of years ago and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I hope it's the same for you.

Yeah that was NOT fun... no doubt about it. BUT, it was tolerable. I had a very bad case because my jaw bone was in the way as well as nerves growing into the teeth.

My Doctor warned me that it would be hard- and after a few follow ups, he said that I had the worst case he had seen in over 15 years of Oral Surgery so, if mine was the worst-- then, yours probably won't be as bad and if it is- Like I said, it sucked but it was tolerable.

Lots of soft foods-- milkshakes w/ a spoon b/c you can't use straws, when you are feeling better have hubby bring in lobster-- that was the first thing I was able to eat (after about a week) because it was soft AND tasty-- so I was happy with that.

I had dry sockets- that was the hardest part- they were painful and annoying. I had to have the dressings changed every few days.

Also, take lots and lots of pain meds- don't be afraid to take what the Doctor gives you along with two or three motrin/aleve... Whatever works to KNOCK you out.

Be prepared that you may get nautious the next day from the stuff that puts you asleep... Keep a bag handy but it's over pretty quick.

Also, make sure you have whoever is going to be there when you wake up bring a blanket and/or sweatshirt. For some reason I was VERY cold coming out of the surgery when I woke up-- and confused because I was out for so long-- So I was freezing w/ chattering teeth. DH said he had the SAME thing happen- so just have something warm handy.

You are very confused when you first wake up so if you are aware of that going into it-- then, it may help.

I had a ll four pulled three months after having Damien. The c-section is way harder. I was useless for about 12 hours afterwards. I went home and slept and took pain killers, that helped a lot. The anesthesia makes you really groggy for awhile too. It really wasn't so bad. Good Luck

Make sure you have icepacks. It will help keep the swelling down in your cheeks

Good luck today! I would say it was nothing compared to childbirth. You certainly can move around easier.

Don't worry! You'll be fine! You can use a hot water bottle if you have pain after (at least that is what I did), and you get all the pudding you could ever want.

I had three pulled and I stayed awake. I had no problems at all, you will be fine!

I had mine done 2 summers ago. I think my c/s was an easier recovery!
