I'm home and it's a .......
 
Her name is Isabella Lorren. I am so in love with her!
My birth story:
As some of you know I was scheduled to be induced on Monday, Feb. 13. I was admitted at 6am at Stony Brook. They took blood and put in the IV. At 6:30 my Dr. came in to check on me. He told me I was 3cm diolated and 100% effaced and was actually having contractions on my own! He said that I'd probably would have gone in a few days on my own. Anyway- since I was that far along on my own, he said it would be a fast and easy delivery  .
By 6:45am my Dr. started the petocin and broke my water- that is a wierd expierence  . Immediately my contractions started to get stronger. They felt like bad AF cramps. Bearable but not comfortable. My Dr. had told me that he was going to send in the anetheologist for me epidural right away since I was 3cm along and progressing quickly. By 8am the anetheologist came in and by 8:20 I felt no pain! My DH had to tell me when I was having a contraction by looking on the monitor. It was so relaxing! We watched TV and talked, called our parents (there's a phone in the labor and delivery room). Around 11:30 I was still feeling no pain but I had the feeling I wanted to push. My nurse got my Dr. and he checked me out- I was 91/2 cm diolated so he told me to wait until I was 10 and he'd be back in a 1/2 hour. By 12pm I really wanted to push and was still feeling nothing! My Dr. came in and told me I was ready! He tested to see how well I could push. If I wasn't doing it right, he would have to shut off the epidural.... which I was NOT letting happen. I made sure I pushed as hard as I could. The Dr. said I was doing great and I could keep the epidural on. He left to go check on other patients. I was there with my DH, nurse and a student nurse who was doing her first ever nursing observation! (they had asked me first if I had minded her coming in). The nurse helped me push and in between pushes we were all talking and watching TV- still NO pain! It just felt like pressure and you felt like you had to cr@p- that's why you wanted to push so much. The nurse had told the student nurse that my labor wasn't the typical labor... I was going quickly and without any pain.
By 1:15 the nurse said she sould see the head and went to get my Dr. He came in and started preparing the room. In the middle of all of this the phone in our room kept ringing and my DH answered it thinking one of our parents figured out our phone #- but each time it was a wrong number  . I just found it funny that people were calling and I was in active labor pushing as hard as I could. Anyway- a few more pushes (these did hurt since her head had to really stretch me) and she was out! I had to have an episomoty   and they did use the vaccuum on her to help me out.
Isabella was born at 1:41pm weiging 6lbs 7oz and she is 19 3/4 inches long.
I would definately go through the whole expierence again! Stony Book was amazing and so was my Dr. and DH.
