I'm having such a hard time right now...
For those of you who don't know, DH is going through some health issues and needs to have a very risky surgery.
This surgery brings with it an 8% risk of death and a 20% risk of stroke.
We heard from the doctor yesterday and they wanted to schedule it for next Thursday.
DH and I were on board and ready to go through with the procedure and suddenly DH has decided that he wants to wait.
We got into a discussion about it and in the middle he broke down and started sobbing and saying that he doesn't want to die before he meets his son.
I think I've seen him cry once before in 10 years of knowing each other. And I think my heart broke a little hearing him even say the words.
I just don't know what to do and how to best support him. I cry all the time when he's not around, trying to be strong when he is.
And all this stress can't be good for the baby, but there is really no way around it.
I'm just having a really hard time with things right now and I have very few places to vent this to.
I could use some hugs. Thanks.

Lauren - I'm so sorry you and your DH are facing this.
Would there be any health implications should you guys choose to wait to have the surgery?

wow..im really sorry to hear about your DH...that is so hard. Maybe he should talk it over with his DR and let him know his concerns....I know its scary, but waiting may make the situation even worse...I dont know the situation...but I wish you both the best.

You both must be really scared.
If he waits like he wants is that ok? or is it something that cannot wait and runs a risk of waiting?

Maybe you can speak with the doctor about putting the surgery off. What would that mean for his health condition?
Also, you should consider a therapist for you both. Honestly, this must be so terrifying and stressful. HUGS!!!!
I pray he is fine and gets better quickly.

OGM Lauren,
I cannot even imagine what you are going through.
I know I would be scared to death.
The surgery itself. What if any are the risks of waiting? It might make him stronger to have his son here when he goes for the surgery? Is that even an option?
I wish i had advice, but I dont honestly know what to say.
If you want to talk, you know Im always here for you and I do understand how difficult this must be .
The baby's fine, the stress wont affect the baby, people have been through A LOT worse pregnant, try not to worry about the baby.

Sweetie you know I am thinking about you three and saying my little for you all.
I have no idea what to say -- my heart is breaking for you, what a difficult decision this must be for DH and you too.
I suppose only your Dr. can give you the best advice, hopefully things will work out for the very very best.
