I'm going to be 36 this year and pregnant with my first.....

I'm sure everything will work out but being this age makes me paranoid about the baby' s development I am 5 weeks and have my first doctor appt on 2/8....I have so many questions but can't wait until then... I was planning on taking Folic acid....I am not big into taking vitamins but I guess I have to start sometime

I know several people who've had babies passed the age of 35. All the babies are healthy and thriving developmentally. Relax and enjoy this time!!

I will be 36 when LO arrives this summer. Also my first. Everything so far *knock on wood* has been good.

Enjoy this time and try not to worry too much. I have my moments here and there too about my age but in all honestly, I feel very young and I think you are as young as you feel.

You will be fine. I am 37 and pregnant with #2 (I will be 38 two weeks after DS is born) and my pregnancy so far (I am 33 weeks) has been completely easy and uncomplicated. Every sono has been perfect, all testing has come back normal, and I feel good. Age is just a number, don't worry yourself about it and just try to enjoy your pregnancy. Chances are in your favor that all will be fine.

36 isn't even old to have a baby anymore! But do not wait - get on a prenatal vitamin with DHA supplement now! The prenatal will have the folic acid, but you need other vitamins as well.

I'm the same age, and hope to have one more in the next year or two. I know many women have babies at this age and also over 40, and all their babies are fine.

I really urge you to take the vitamins with Folic acid starting today if you aren't already. Taking Folic acid prior to and during pregnancy reduces risk of neural tube defects. Best of luck for a healthy baby!

Congrats! I was 35 when pregnant with my first. My mom was 40 with her 3rd. People are having healthy babies later in life these days.

My SIL had her first at 39! Our niece is a perfectly healthy baby girl. Definitely start taking prenatals, if you're not a fan of regular vitamins try the gummies, they even taste good Try to enjoy the pregnancy and relax. Odds are you have a perfectly healthy and happy baby growing in there!!!!

Thanks so much ladies!! You made me feel so much better!!! You girls are so helpful and have the greatest advise....when I was on LIW religiously planning my wedding it was the best years sharing ideas with everyone!!! Congrats to you all!!

I had my first at 34 and my second at 36 1/2 and they are perfectly fine. Many women are having babies now in their mid-late 30s with no issues.

Don't worry. I'm 36 and pregnant with my 2nd and I really don't think about it. At my 1st OB appmt I asked about any special tests, etc bc of my age and my OB just looked at me like I was a little crazy and said no. If something comes up of course there would be more testing but nothing automatic bc of my age. Just enjoy it.

But, I wouldn't wait on taking the vitamins. They are really important and folic acid is key, especially in the very early stages of pregnancy. Even if you don't like to take vitamins, at this point you are doing it for your child and his/her well-being so that should be motivation enough. I would always forget to take my multi-vitamin but as soon as I knew I was pregnant and on my prenatal, it became automatic. I never forget, it's the last thing I do before I go to bed.

I was 35 with my first and second (twins) and will be 36 when #3 arrives. No problems. You will be JUST fine. Many of my friends are JUST starting to have kids after 30!

I'm right with ya! I'm 35 pregant with my 1st(twins) I'll be 36 when I have them. You are going to have a perfect baby!!!! All the worrying and stress will make you nuts. Ask all the questions you want! Congrats!!!!!

I was exactly the same age as you when I had my first. A perfect, healthy baby girl.
Try not to worry. 36 is not old in this day and age

You'll be fine! My mom had me at 38 and all went well. Now its so normal! Don't sweat it. Its going to be great!

I was 35 when I got preggo with my first. 36 when I popped. Shitttttt. I looked good My avatar says how great my tiny tot is I'm 37 with a 6moth old. Its the best
