I'm confused... PreSeed and Pre-Natals

I was under the impression that:

-PreSeed exists for people that need/want to use lube but don't want to harm sperm.

-Pre-natals are to be taken before/during TTC so that you already have the vitamins in your system in case you get pregnant.

However, I feel like I've read here, in bits and pieces, that both actually HELP you get pg:

-PreSeed can be used to to mimic CM for those that need a boost.

-Prenatals have some kind of magic potion in them to increase the chances of pregnancy?

Can someone clear this up for me. I haven't seen this info anywhere else.

you are right and sort of right

pre-seed and pre are the only sperm-friendly lubes out there. other lubes "kill" sperm (it affects their motility).

but for people like me, who don't produce EWCM, it also helps me get pregnant. the EWCM is there for the sperm to swim around in and wait for the egg to drop. in optimal conditions, sperm can live for 2-5 days, so if you BD before you O, you can get pregnant.

if you don't produce EWCM, the sperm don't live as long. pre and pre-seed are the same consistency as EWCM and stay inside you for the sperm to hang out in.

prenatals, however, i'm not so sure of. i've never taken them while TTC and i forget to take them all the time while pregnant. they can help an embryo develop properly (especially the folic acide in them) but i would not consider them a magic potion.

I think headoverheels said it all right. I didn't hear that prenatals actually HELP in getting pregnant...only that it helps you stay healthy and gives you all the things a developing fetus needs.

I use pre seed (the lube kind not the inserts) I figure it can't hurt to give the little sperm a nice place to hang out till the egg comes!! lol

There is certainly alot of info...some of it is true some not...each person is different though so it's tough for there to be a norm! you gotta do what is right for u!

I haven't seen much research regarding pre-natals increasing fertility. However, I'd venture to say that if you're deficient or even just low on certain essential minerals or vitamins, it could screw up some of your bodily functions. So with that in mind, they might be helpful.

The thing to know about PreSeed and Pre is that you may want to use them b/c even saliva can kill sperm. I never knew that.

As for the prenatals I agree w/ the other ladies they are not a magic potion. However, they can't hurt right? Taking them can only help your body to function at its best ability. Also you will have a chance to get use to them before your pregnant so you can figure out what time of day to take them that works best for you, with food without. Your not going to want to play around with that when your having m/s.

I don't use either but I have been taking a Women's Daily multi-vitamin which my Doc said is good all around (and it has the folic acid). Shortly after I bought the bottle I realized I prob should have just bought the Pre-Natals but I'm too cheap to go out and buy another. If we don't get our BFP in the next few shots, I'll prob go out and get them.
