Im back!
Decisions decisions!!! Well we choose an area in GA that we love, and saw severeal brand new model houses... we've pretty much decided to build, but cant decide which one we want to build  which is more or less... ( we cant decide if we should go for the one (starter home) with less bedrooms and a little cheaper... let the property value go up... then resale and go for the bigger one later on...or just go straight for the one we know will accomodate the family size we'd like to have)
Anyways- here are my favs

Well- Id like to move sooner than later....
DH job is gov't, so I know he will be able to transfer BUT.... which office, is another story....and once he puts in for the transfer....we've got 30 days to get down there.... SO... we are debating on when to take that step....
An est. time would be by the end of this year, beg. of next....DEF. by summer of 07'
The houses we looked to build were anywhere between 150,000-200,000.....all in a development...
Im not sure what it would be, if we just bought land in the sticks, and had the house built there...
I will say I saw some million dollar homes for sh!ts and g!ggles.... and WOW.... nothing compared to the million dollar homes we have here in NY!

Marissa, where in GA are you looking? I live in Alpharetta - I would say, definitely find out where your husband's office is going to be, and make sure you live close to it! Traffic in Atlanta can be horrible!

We looked in Cherokee county, Cobb county, Paulding County
We also looked in Barrow and Gwinett on the other side... (but I liked the other areas better)
Dh works for the post office... so he will have an office in every town.... So if we move to one town.... he could always work in any of the surrounding towns...
How far are you from the above areas?

Alpharetta is in Fulton County it is straight north of the city on 400, but I live almost in Forsythe County. Luckily, I work in about 8 miles from my house, although, somedays it takes me 20 minutes.....
Cobb and Cherokee are to the west of me, and then Gwinnett and Barrow are to the east. There are some great areas of all those areas.......If you have questions on any town in particular, I will let you know what I know. I've been down here for 5 years now (time has flown by) I'm probably least familiar with Barrow.
That is very good that your husband can pick where he works. There are tons of people in my area that work down town, and it takes them 1.5 hours+ to get there........with no traffic it is about a 30 minute drive.

OMG...those houses make me sooo jealous!! I would kill for new construction. They are gorgeous. I would go with the bigger house, forget starter home.
I can't believe how big Ryan is getting! He's so cute!

That's incredible!! Another reason why I hate living on Long Island. Those houses are great! I like the first one out of all of them. If/when you moved down to GA, would anyone else in your family be following you???

Welcome back. The houses are very pretty.
We had actually bought land a few years ahead of building the house and it worked out wonderful. The land served as a downpayment, which meant we did not have to put any money down. The only thing we did was pay for the permits.
Looking at all the different models is so overwhelming. After a while things just start to gel together and all the houses start looking the same.

i dont think you can go wrong with any of those....
and i agree with sandra 4get the starter home, just go straight to the bigger and better.....
all of the homes are gorgeous... and um are any of those in the pics supposed to be a starter home? cuz they all look spacious to me....
