Im almost about to cry.....

Paige has been so miserable and its making me miserable. I want her to be happy not only for herself but for myself. I want to enjoy her, but instead sometimes i dread having to come home to a cranky, miserable baby.

The doctor did say she was teething but this miserable stuff has been going on for a while. She is not sick, her ears are fine. I actually had a well visit on friday and since she was pulling her ear i made him check and her ears are fine. Im guessing that maybe her teethign is what is making her so cranky.

She is constantly fussing and crying. I dont know what to do anymore. She isnt happy doing anything. I put her in the bouncy...she cries... i hold her sitting on my couch... she cries... I go outside with her and she cries. Nothing works. Only walking around the house will get her to be less cranky. I cant do that either 24/7. It hurts my back. She doesnt even like the binky anymore.

She is getting up like 4 every morning but not screaming. I just dont know what to do anymore. She was always a fussy baby, but its getting worse. I sometimes think it might have to do with me going back to work. I have notice that once i went back to work and my mom watches her she is super cranky. Sometimes i think she might be getting spoiled by my mom. But who knows. It could all be a coincidence and thats when she started teething.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I know how I feel when Cailen gets cranky - I can't imagine it going on like that nonstop - I am so sorry - you know it will pass, but until then I know it stinks! Chat Icon

Re: Im almost about to cry.....

Sounds like the teething is bothering her.

Is it possible to take a day off? I mean a weekend day off from the family and go to a spa or bring her to her grandparents or someone's house and you just hang at home. I am a firm believer that if YOU are stressed, SHE will be stressed. She could be playing off your feelings and emotions.

Also, have you tried taking a walk with her before you get her ready for bed? When Steven was really bad with the teething, we would take a walk before we went home for the night. It really helped calm him down. there were also some nights where he would sleep in his carriage with the back up (not all the way, but up pretty far). I think laying flat aggrivates their teething even more.

Good luck! Chat Icon

Jenny I'm so sorry to hear that Paige is so cranky. It happens, they get stimulated more outside of your home and they don't nap as well, etc. I was going through the same thing - what I'm finding that helps is putting her to bed earlier. Since I went back to work a few weeks ago she would come home so cranky - she's tired that's all there is. I was being selfish and keeping her up, but I stopped last week.

Now we get home, play for 15 minutes on the bed, eat dinner, bath, bottle bed. She is sound asleep by 6:50 every night. I'm sad because I only get to spend an hour a day with her, but the fact that's she's falling asleep that early means she's tired.

Try putting her to bed earlier...it may help. Chat Icon

She actually naps at my moms real well. She takes at least 3 naps. One of them at least 2 hours. So its not that. I usually put her between 8-830.

Well that's great news!! I'm glad to hear she is sleeping well!!! It must be the teething then and that can go on for awhile. Try to do what Stephanie suggested and be as cheerful as you can. Your mood does affect her behavior!!!

Good luck and hope she gets that tooth soon!!Chat Icon

Re: Im almost about to cry.....

Chat Icon I am sorry you are going through this. I had a baby that could not be put down at anytime. Each day gets a little better, he still only naps if I hold him while he sleeps.

I have a good feeling she will grow out of it little by little.

I also think there is no way to spoil her. Some babies do need to be held all the time.

I hope your days get easierChat Icon

I am so sorry you are going through this. Chat Icon My little one is teething also and I know what you mean about walking around the house. When she is super cranky, it is the only thing that calms her down. Hopefully they will cut the tooth soon so they can get some relief.

I agree with the other ladies. See if you can get some time to yourself. If you don't, you'll get more frustrated and that won't do you or your DD any good.

You know I said this before, but it will get better!! Once she can sit up and maybe even start to crawl she will find her true personality...

Alot of us have been there, and like I said so many time, you will hardly remember the miserable times once she is a lovely smiley girl! She will grow out of this!!!
