Do I REALLY deserve this? I don't know whether to cry or strangle someone
So my uncle (dad's brother) called this morning and hung up, evidently he dialed the wrong number, just like last year at this time, my cousin mailed the save the date for his wedding to my dad and his gf at our house.
So my mom called my dad to tell him and he was being a real a-hole as usual, and my mom said something about me not getting married tomorrow. He said he assumed I was getting married. My mom said no, and do you know what the a-hole said....
"Everyone needs to get a life"
 Because he sat there and watched me sign a $30K contract and promised to help pay and then left 6 weeks later, leaving us taking care of my mom who had just fallen down the stairs and paying tens of thousands in bills. Because my whole life is entirely different than what it was 2 years ago when I booked the wedding I need to get a life.
I really needed this today. As if my heart weren't breaking enough.
I hate you.

Jenn I'm so sorry. I really hope he'll realize the damage he's done. He'll pay the ultimate price of not having his daughter in his life. As for you sweetie, you dont need people like that.

I think your mom should have been a little more sensitive than to share this information with you today of all days. I am sure she didnt do it deliberately though, and I am sure she is hurting in her own ways. But I have to ask, why would she even call you dad to tell him his brother called? the brother didnt leave a message - who cares?
I think that you need to just cut your dad out of your life completely since he causes you so much pain, and tell your mother that you would rather not hear stories like this in the future. I know that puts your mom in a bad position since you are probably one of the few people that she can talk to about her hurt and pain, but you are clearly having a very hard time getting past this, and these types of stories will not help you move forward. Once you have some distance from the situation, perhaps you can be more supportive to her and help her get thru it. But for now I think you have to concentrate on yourself.

Well, I was there when it all happenned. And *I* was really upset and I was ready to call my POS uncle and start screaming at him, especially becaue last year I return to sendered the card and I emailed my cousin explaining how he had hurt us and asking for an apology. I didn't get one. They always "accidentally" call around the holidays and it just made me so sick. My dad calls 3x a day because he's trying to get my mom to file joint taxes with him and he's being an azz every time.
So..we changed our number
