I'm about 6-8 days late
and after last month (where i had a 45 day cycle out of nowhere) i don't want to test.
I'm on CD36, had some light spotting on CD33-35, but only a very little this morning and none since then. I had really sharp pains on my right side on CD32, but other than that nothing else.
I keep going to the bathroom expecting AF to be there. I know that as soon as I decide that i'll give in and test, she'll show up. So, more of a waiting game just like last month

I don't know. I've stopped using OPKs b/c I've never gotten a positive on them. My usual cycle was 28-30 days, but the last few months have been all over the place. 33,27,31,29,45 and now i'm on 36 this month.

With that in mind, you may not actually be late.
Usually AF is "late" when you ovulate late.
Not everyone ovulates the same time each month (me included!). My ovulation dates have been as early as CD 16 and as late as CD 26, making my cycles range anywhere from 30-40 days!
If your LP is typical (14 days), then likely you'll get AF 15 days after you O. Since you don't know when you ovulated, it's difficult to predict when your AF is due and/or when she is late.
Don't drive yourself crazy over it! When I didn't know when to expect AF (before TTC), I'd always wait at least 3 days after my longest cycle before testing. If 45 days is your longest cycle, I'd wait another 2 weeks (give or take a few days) before testing and/or thinking I'm late.

Re: I'm about 6-8 days late
the fact that you have long cycles and "never gotten a positive" on an OPK makes me think there is a possibility you might not be ovulating... have you ever been tested for PCOS?

I never had long cycles before a few months ago. Even so, until last month, i was still averaging 27-30 day cycles. I never had one as long as 45 days until last month. Since we've been trying for over 8 months now, my OB referred me to an RE, so this was our last month of trying before beginning any tests (if we decide to go that route).

from what i understand PCOS can rear its ugly head at any time. i really really hope you are late b/c you are pregnant, but if not, an RE will definitely be able to help you along.
best of luck and lots of
