I'm a mommy!
Well, my due date was May 9th but on April 24th at 8:03 pm I had a baby
 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ainsley Catherine was born via c-section and is doing great! I had contractions for 2 days at 4 minutes apart on Sunday and Monday - but they didnt hurt very much - went to hospital at 8am and my doctor admitted me. He broke my water and gave me WAY too many internals (oh god, I can't sugarcoat it - it hurts like HELL!) and started me on pitocin.
11 hours later. . .
I was still only 1 cm dilated! The doctor didnt know what was going wrong, but the baby was showing signs of distress and he said a c-section would be the best thing. I immediately burst into tears cause it wasnt part of my whole 'birth plan' - but the most important thing to know about plans is that they change. . . we agreed to the c-section and we got started.
at 8:03 she arrived. I had gone back and forth thinking one week it was a boy and another week it was a girl - but on the day of delivery I was sure it was a boy - when they said "it's a girl!" I couldnt believe it.
Turns out the cord was wrapped around her neck and was preventing her from descending - thus no dilation. The doctor said there was no way I would have been able to delivery vaginally and if we had waited it out, we would have most likely have needed to do an emergency c-section, so thank god we followed his advice.
We are over the moon in love with her and I'll post more pics later - and more detailed info. Recovery has been ok and breastfeeding is going pretty well.
She's 7 pounds, 7 ounces (and that's at 2 weeks early!) and is 20 inches long.
Our daughter got my hair (woo hoo!) and DH's chin. . . everything else we aren't really sure. . . but we're hopelessly in love.
