I'm a Mommy - a month early!!
My son Ryan was born Monday March 9th at 11:42 a.m.
This was such a surprise! He is not home with me yet. He is currently in NICU cause he has a touch of pneomonia. He seems to be doing well though. Please just send lots of prayers our way.
Here's my story.
Sunday night at about 10:30 I was in bed woke up and kinda felt like I wet myself a little, but not much. So I went to pee and when I wiped there was a tiny slight pink. I still didn't think anything of it so I changed my pants and went back to bed. I still kept feeling a little wet, so I put a pad on and went back into bed. At around 12ish I started feeling tightness and a little crampy. I got up and the pad was more wet and had a clear discharge. So I called the doc just to let him know what was going on. He told me it sounds like pre-term labor and to head to L&D.
Thank God my bags were packed and all I had to do as get dressed! So we had there at about 1a.m. In the car on the ride there my water really broke. A big gush!
So we get there and they hook me up to monitor me and check me out and I am 2cm dilated and 80% effaced.
They moved me to the delivery room and hooked me up to antibiotics since I didn't get my group B Strep yet!!
At this point DH and I tried to get some rest. The doc kept checking on me but I was progressing slowly and only had mild cramping.
At about 8ish they started me on Pitocin to speed things up and boy did they!! The contractions started getting stronger. The doc checked me and I was 5 cm so they gave me the epi (which was heavenly!!!!!)
It only stung a few seconds going in but then took effect quickly.
At 11:29a.m I was fully dilated and ready to push. Ryan was out 13 minutes later at 11:42a.m.
I didn't have a episotomy nor did I tear on the outside, only inside alittle. They stitched me up and DH and I both got to hold him before they took him to NICU to check him out.
DH was soooo amazing though this. I truly was blessed to have him by my side.
Ryan's lungs weren't 100% since he came 5 weeks early but so far he is stable.
My healing has been good. I am a little sore but feel good. It was sad leaving the hospital yesterday without my baby but I know he is in good hands.
Winthrop was totally awesome. Above my expectations. The L&D nurses were great and my nurses in Maternity treated me wonderful. I totally recommend getting a private room if you can because it was a blessing! Since they are feeding him through a tube right now I have been pumping and it had been going just fine. I hope to get to feed him by the weekend.
So I introduce our little prince Ryan Anthony 5lbs. 10oz. 19inches.
We are so IN LOVE!!!!
