Il Mulino?
I made a reservation at Il Mulino (in Roslyn) for DH's birthday because the food is supposed to be super delish. I knew it was expensive but I didnt realize how expensive because from what I read online dinner cost some people 400 a couple and i wasnt looking to spend that much, some people said a pasta dish cost 50?. So, for all of you that have eaten there is it really that expensive? I dont drink and DH would prob only have one glass of wine. Im not sure if I should cancel or not, I was also considering Trattoria Diane (also in Roslyn) as a back up.
TIA!

Both are great choices. Il Mulino is SOOO good but yes very pricey! I love Dianes as well!
Both are VERY good, believe it or not I like Diane's better! Just I always get lost going there!

Re: Il Mulino?
I don't know about the Roslyn location but the city Il Mulino was my worst birthday dinner ever---thinking about the place makes me mad.
It was NOT worth the price at all but again, this is not the Roslyn location I am talking about. I was sitting across from James Gandofini, that was the only good part of that dinner.

Re: Il Mulino?
I went 2 wks ago for an office meeting and the food was good. I don't know the prices but I wouldn't say its worth $400/couple good.

Re: Il Mulino?
I go to all of the fancy restaurants on the North Shore but I have heard so many bad things about Il Mulino that I haven't even bothered. I LOVE Diane's in Roslyn. If you go on Sunday they have an amazing price fix for $30. It is the exact same menu as on Saturday night but you get dessert and appetizer for free. I would also consider Limani, Cippolini, Besito or Toku which are all in the same area.
