IIHS does not recommend two Safety First Car Seats
WASHINGTON (WABC) -- There are new ratings out for children's booster seats, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is giving poor marks to two seats made by Safety First.
The low-rated seats are the Safety First All-In-One and the Safety First Alpha Omega Elite.
The institute says both seats leave the lap belt too high on the abdomen and the shoulder belt too far out on the shoulder.
These are the only seats out of 91 rated that earn a "not recommended" designation by IIHS.
The ratings are intended as a guide for parents on which seats will provide good seat belt fit for 4- to 8-year-old children in a range of different vehicles.

Wow!! Isn't the Alpha Omega a really popular seat? I'm glad I saw this since we are shopping for a new carseat for DD in the next few weeks.

Yes, this just came out today but with all of the other news out there I was afraid people would not see it.

Thank you for posting this. I have the alpha omega elite. I even recently posted about the problem I was having keeping the baby's chin off his chest when e falls asleep. I was going to take my time to get a new one but now I'm definitely buying a new one tomorrow
