Ignorant people on the subway...
So, I get on the train last night after work, and didn't catch a seat, so I stood by the door. To my left was a lady sitting, and to my right was another straphanger on their feet.
For about 20 mins into the commute, the lady sitting to my left kept huffing & puffing with her male friend (who was standing) about how they had places to go, & things to do, and for the train to get moving "THEY besta git dis b!tch' moving...git dat ******** outta hea, we gots sh!t to do!".
Just so you can get a visual, she looked like the long lost twin of this nice lady, just African-American:
I just minded my business, and kept reading my US Magazine (gotta keep up with gossip! lol  ).
About half way into the next express stop, where I overheard they were getting off at, I get tapped on my leg by the lady's elbow. I looked down to my leg, didn't get an 'excuse me', and just kept on reading my mag. Shortly after, I overhear her say "...like they betta. Dats why I hate white people. They can't be touched on da train, thinking they betta than everyone. You ain't betta than me ho', sh!t!..."
Now, I'm thinking, "is she really talking to me?"... because 1st of all, I am NOT at all white-looking (see here: http://www.lifamilies.com/i/pa/132.jpg), and secondly, when did I say I was "betta" than anyone!?
So as the train comes to the next stop, she gets up to walk out, still talking crap, and I look up, and she says "yea, YOU ho'! You thinking you betta than me."
I respond, "what did I do to YOU!?"
Her: "You ain't betta than me!"
Me: "Did I say I was?"
Her: "You ain't betta than me!"
Me: "well, the way you acting makes me look like I am"
Her: "You ain't betta than me!"
Me: "yea, just keep walking"
Her: "Why don't you git off da train!?....Fken Punk!"
At this point, I just went back to reading, and kept my mouth shut, because who knows what could have happened had I said what I wanted.
Her: "....... elephant hoe... something, something..."
And the subway doors closed.
Ugh! Gotta love the MTA!

Exactly!
After talking to a friend of mine that's been around igorant people, she broke it down to me. Apparently, to people like that, anyone who ISN'T like them are considered white to them.

You know what!? Trust me, I wanted to make her feel SOOOOOOOOO stupid, because I know that she intended to start trouble with me (I felt her constantly looking up at me, even shortly before & after she tapped me). Not to mention, I should try to avoid any & all altercations in my condition  . And who knows what she would have done, or have had on her.
