If you've been to a destination wedding that you LOVED...
Where was it? What did you love about it? DH and I had a destination wedding 3 years ago (in Naples, Florida) and my BIL is now planning one too, but he doesn't want anything in the US. Carribbean maybe. He has a lot more $$ than we do (lol) so it can be something a little over the top and they want an intimate setting (preferably not a huge resort). It also needs to be a place that is easily accesible for guests. They considered Turks & Caicos but the flights were an issue.
As much as I hated planning my own wedding I'm excited to help them plan theirs!

Sandals in the Bahamas. It was beautiful. We ended up staying at one of the hotels right outside of the Sandals resort but my BFF and her DH stood at the actual resort and Wow. Beautiful.

I've been to one on Aruba, at the Occidental.
The Westin St. John is a small but gorgeous resort, no passports required.
There were 3 weddings the week that DH and I were there.
Guests would have to fly to St.Thomas and take a ferry to St. John.

I've been to two DW in Jamaica. I had a blast at both, but I don't know if I'd reccomend either hotel. DH and I just got back from Barbados and it was beautiful. Plus there are direct JetBlue flights from JFK.

DH and I were married in St Lucia but it was very small and intimate.
ETA: Very opposite of big budget.

DH and I got married at the Kahala Resort in Hawaii. It wasn't really a destination wedding b/c DH's family was there (we had 94 people). It was a destination for my family and our friends though.

I love Aruba... so I think anywhere there would be great!
My BFF got married at the Westin in St. John... it was the best time ever! But I think with destination weddings it also has alot to do with the crowd!

Loved it. Only like 40 or so of us, I guess. Great to have one place doing all the work. They had these great little apt type places we stayed at. Worked outwonderfully!

My sister got married in Croatia! while it was beatiful there the wedding plans where terrrible. They lost their hall 2 days before. Their wedding planner was terrible.

Riviera Maya in Mexico at the Riu Palace. It was UNBELIEVABLE. 5 star resort, all inclusive. We still talk about how incredible the whole experience was.
