How soon are you leaving before the baby is due? And how do you feel about it?

I can not wait.......I'm like a kid waiting for summer vacation to come. My hours are so freaking long and I have zero energy.

Re: If you're not waiting until your water breaks at work...

I plan on leaving one week before i am due, but my family is pushing 2 weeks b/c the weather is getting bad and i have 0 energy. I'm hoping to work until the week before, mainly because i want most of my maternity leave after the baby comes and because the baby might be a week or so late!

Re: If you're not waiting until your water breaks at work...

I'm due May 23rd, but my company already told me they don't want me commuting (into NYC) after the first week of May. I'll work from home - to the degree that I can/need/want to.....but my maternity leave won't start till the day the baby is born.

Re: If you're not waiting until your water breaks at work...

My due date is a Monday, I would LOVE to work up until the Wednesday before, and take 2 sick days before starting MAT leave.

I am being realistic, in that, I work in NYC and due right smack in the middle of February....if it gets to be too much I'll go out exactly 1 week before..

OR if I get scheduled for a C section (which is likely at this point), try and have off a few days before the surgery.

Due June 13th. Would like to make it to June 10th, the Friday before. If I can do it, 12 weeks off will bring me to having the whole summer off...going back the day after Labor Day (if I have to go back, that is). I'd love to go out sooner, but unless medically necessary, just not practical if I want my time home with the baby.

Re: If you're not waiting until your water breaks at work...

I will find out on Tuesday if I can get my butt signed out already. I am beat, the commute into Brooklyn is killing me and because of the GD I have to go 3 times a week to the doctors. I am praying they will sign me out. Luckily, I will get paid through our private disability at my company, so it won't be so bad.

Although I know I am going to be extremely bored if I go out this early, I know I will no longer be stressed with work and I am looking foward to that.

Keeping my fingers crossed!!!Chat Icon

Re: If you're not waiting until your water breaks at work...

I'm working 2 days from home now, and hope to make it 3 this week.

I'm working until a few days before the scheduled c/s. I'd rather have the time on the back end Chat Icon

Although, if we have another major snow storm, I'll be HOME!
