I swaddled until they rolled at 4 months. It was a rough transition for my oldest. She barely slept when I first took the swaddle away eventually she got use to it.

Re: if your newborn liked to be swaddled...
We stopped swaddling maybe around 3.5 months? DS was breaking out and using all his energy to get out of the swaddle, which would wake him up at night. As soon as we stopped swaddling he slept better than every before. Around this time he also started rolling back to tummy, so he also began sleeping on his stomach.

As soon as he started breaking out of his swaddle, which was probably about 3 months or so. He slept even better once we stopped swaddling since he could move around, roll over and get himself in a comfy position.

Till 5 months (moved on to the miracle blanket at around 6 weeks when she started breaking out of the regular blanket swaddle).

We did the a&a with swaddle me combo.
At 3.5 mo we swaddled arms in the sleep sack with wings. At 4 mo we stopped that. They woke often for a few nights but eventually settled.

We used the convertible Woombie, so once they started rolling, we just took their arms out. We kept them both swaddled till maybe 5 months or so.
