If your DC wakes up early from a nap
but you know they are still tired, how long do you let them cry in their crib in hopes that they go back down again?
Is 15-20 minutes too long? I feel like I'm torturing poor DS letting him cry up there like that but I know if I bring him downstairs now he will just be a mess for the rest of the afternoon.

Well they (the books) say that you should leave them up there if they wake after only 30 minutes. So you'd leave them up there until the hour is up on the nap.
We have this problem all the time. If he's quiet and playing... we leave him. otherwise we usually give in and get him.
However if his short naps become a trend, we leave him for the whole hour.

Thanks!
He usaully naps for 1 1/2 to 2 hours and it was only 30 minutes.
He cried for another 25-30 minutes and now he's sleeping again!
Phew! (Wiping my brow)
