If your DC has a red birth mark..

DD is 16 months and we noticed a red mark right behind her head by her hair line> at First we thought it was a rash. Turns out its a birth mark but it wasnt there at when she was born.. Dr said a birth mark can come out in the first 2 yrs.

Where is your DC birth mark and when did u notice it?

Hunter has a red strawberry behind his neck. It was not there when he was born----it appeared a few days later. DH has one too. We asked his plastic surgeon about it yesterday and he told us that it is likely to go away sometime in the next few years but to keep an eye on it just in case it starts growing quickly.

DS has LOTS of red birthmarks everywhere... on his forehead & back of head hairline (stork bite), on his eyes (angel kisses), ect. As I understand it... it's blood vessels. DH's family DOES have it. (thanks DH!).

It's all supposed to go away with time... but it def. gives DS character!

Yes my DD had one below her nostril(angel kiss) I freaked out when I saw it then the Dr pointed out to the one on her eyelids but they went away, but the one on the back of her headnis still there I think the Dr said it will go away with time but indent believe it.

DD had a "stork bite" also behind her head at her hairline. She is 2.5 and its gone now. I dont know when it went away, I never really checked it since she has long hair

i had no idea they had names..so DD has a "stork bite" cute..and i wasn't aware they could go away... was thinking it was permanent

My DD was born with 3.
1 on her nose
1 right under her nostrils
1 on the back of her head near the nape of her neck.

She is almost 6 months old now and the one on her nose is gone. THe one near her nostrils is fading. The one on the back of her neck is still there (and huge) but her hair covers it.

ETA: no one in my family has these.

DD has had a stork bite on the back of her head, near her hairline, since the day she was born. If she was born with hair you wouldn't be able to see it.

DS has a "stork bite" on the back of his head to. A big one...He is now 15 months old and it is still there. Not as noticeable now that he has some hair. He also had angel kisses on his eyelids when he was born. They disappeared within a month. I had a stork bite too. 3 of my cousins have/had one on their forehead. It is only noticeable when they cry or get really pi$$ed...They are 17, 26, and 48 now...

DD has the same mark under her hairline at the back of her neck but it has been there since she was born. She is 19 months now. You cant see it unless you are looking for it because of her hair. She was also born with a mark on her forehead and under her nose. These both faded within a few months but sometimes if she is hot or has been crying the one on her forehead is a noticible again.

Both my DD's have "stork bites" on their necks. It has faded a lot on my 2 year old and her hair covers it.

Zoey was born with a bright red spot on her forehead they called a hemangioma. It was flat not raised but very noticeable because she was pretty much bald! They told me it could take up to 5 years to fade and could get darker/brighter first. I am happy to say it has faded dramatically and at 2.5 is barely noticeable especially since she has hair now!

DD1 had a stork bite. DD2 has a stork bite and 2 hemangiomas...one under her chin and one on her arm (funny thing is MIL has one just like it on her arm)! The started when she was about 5 weeks old but they haven't seemed to get bigger for a while now. They aren't big at all but I hope the one under her chin goes away.

My DD had 3 small hemangiomas that appeared around 1 mth -3 mths. 2 went away. The worst one (not visible, in diaper area) has not gone away yet at 2+.

forehead, eyes, lip, neck, back, above her rear....
i feel like they might be fading-mainly because strangers have stopped asking about them.

DD has a strawberry mark on her back that she was born with. She's 2.5 and it's still there, although it seems a little lighter in color to me.
