How would you tell them? DD is 3 and we are taking her next week for the Frozen event. She has been to Disney before and asks me on a daily basis to go back. It has been hard keeping the secret, but I am not telling her until the morning we are leaving. Any creative ways to surprise her? Thanks!

First off you're an awesome mom and your dd is going to be thrilled.

I would put together a bunch of Disney and frozen stuff in a wrapped box. Let her open it and then tell her.

Write her a letter or an invitation from her favorite Disney character telling her about the trip. Put it in the mailbox and tell her she has mail. You can include a little toy from the Disney Store.. or not lol.

Lol. Thanks! Everyone thinks I am crazy, but you only live once and I don't want DD to miss this!

Thanks! Was trying not to spoil her even more with "stuff", but I'm sure she would love it!

If you were surprising DC with a trip to Disney...

When our parents took us when we were little and it was as surprise, we didn't know where we were going until we drove up and saw the Mickey ears water tower - that was when my 3 year old cousin started screaming "mickey mickey mickey" in the car. It was a little different because we were already in Florida visiting family. But I was 5 and I remember that clear as day and being incredibly excited.

That's an awesome memory!

We want to tell her before we get on the plane I think, since DH isn't coming with us and he will want to see her reaction. I also think she would figure it out when we got on the plane. When I ask what she did today when I get home from work she often tells me she took a plane to Florida to see Sophia and Jake.

Thats awesome. We just suprised our 3 (5,7,8) in February. We told then during dinner on a Friday night, we were leaving Saturday. We asked them, what they felt like having for dinner tomorrow night? They threw out their choices then we said how about Mexican?.... At Epcot? (They have been to Disney a number of times and its their favorite restaurant in Disney). There was silence, wide eyed shock, my older 2 gilrs couldn't believe it they were so happy, my 5yo son, didn't miss a beat eating his dinner and says very matter of factly, "I'm getting the rice!) My SIL just did this. Bought them shirts that said "we can't keep calm, we're going to Disney" and had some balloons in their living room.. Her kids were super excited.

Can she write her letters yet? DD was 3 when we took her. We asked her to write out the letters D-I-S-N-E-Y and then told her what it spelled.

I thought about that, but she wont carry it herself, so it would be a waste for now! We have a Sofia suitcase, so maybe I can do something with the one I have!

Is there anything she associates with going on an airplane? I know some kids are only allowed to chew gum or have certain candy when flying. Maybe pack her a little carry on bag with special things for the trip and some minnie or mickey ears and tell her you're going on a trip, can she guess where?

Does she like to help you get the mail (DD does)? Maybe you could make a colorful piece of "mail" in a mickey shape inviting her to go visit.

I have minnie headphones I can pack. I will likely do something with "mail" too! Thanks!

We have the Disney store Elsa and Anna costumes. I did get her a special new outfit to wear though, so I could wrap that up!

Re: If you were surprising DC with a trip to Disney...

My DD (5) has been begging to go to Disney. She's been saving every single cent that anyone gives her for probably two years now so she can go to Disney one day. She keeps asking if she has enough money yet but we keep telling her nope, keep saving.

We planned a 10 day Disney trip this fall so we are going to wake her up in the morning and tell her to count out her piggy banks to see if she has enough yet for Disney. After counting we are going to say, "Yep, looks like you have enough. Hurry and get dressed, we are going to Disney. Right now!!!"

She's going to freak out!!!.............it will be her first trip to Disney!!!

You can read her a letter from Mickey or one of the princesses telling her she's coming to visit today. Or maybe a big box of balloons. Let her open them and attach a little tag to one of them that says, "We are going to Disney!!". Or give her a special Disney themed outfit, tell her to hurry up and get dressed because you're leaving for Disney right now. Maybe a a Disney themed breakfast like Mickey Pancakes and then tell her about the trip.

Have a GREAT time!!!!!

She may be too young but for anyone else:

There's a cool service where you pick a favorite character and he or she will call your child on the phone and let them know they will be seeing them soon.
