If you went to Aruba for a week...
How much did you spend on food and alcohol if you didn't go all-inclusive?

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
You can eat really nice and spend $100-$150 for 2 with 2 apps, 2 entrees, dessert and not to expensive bottle of wine for dinner... but if you are looking not to have fancy dinners you can go to more basic places and spend less than half of that!
Typical lunch $10pp i would say. Drinks are drinks whatever island you are on. We actually like to buy bottle of vodka, rum, jack whatever, at the airport and drink that some of the time to keep drinking $$ down!

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
Dh and I went last year for our honeymoon and we didn't go all inclusive because we heard so many raves about the local restaurants. Now, we went a little overboard because we were on our honeymoon but we spent a little over 2500 for the 10 days. But, we went to nicer restaurants most days and we drank whatever we wanted. There were definitely ways we could have spent less and there are so many really good, cheaper restaurants, I wish would have actually went to some more of those.

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
a lot!!!
we had done a breakfast plan, where we got a nice big buffet breakfast at the hotel every morning as well as a little happy hour in the afternoon with some snacks and free drinks.
But on top of that plan, we spent around 100-150 at each dinner (we were on our honeymoon though, so we splurged. we had appetizers, desserts and drinks besides the main meal). We had cheap lunches, shared an appetizer or meal at the hotel/pool/beach bars and restaurants. It also depends how much you drink and if you drink the specials. But the restaurants there are pricey. I'd say you'd be spending 80-150 on dinners for 2 people but maybe I just eat and drink too much!

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
My husband and I rented a house, so we went to the supermarket to buy breakfast and lunch foods. That cost us about $150 for the week, I guess
Dinners we went out each night...some more expensive than others. It depends on what you are planning on eating and where

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
we went to the super market for breakfast and lunch..bec I feel like those add up VERY quickly! We even get alcohol there (beer case(s) and rum and juices =)... so we are not buying $$ drinks poolside
Then we eat out just for dinner...We went with a group so our bill was big..but when broken down wasnt too bad...

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
We went to the supermarket too for breakfast and lunch since we were staying at a timeshare.
We went out each night for dinner. I can't remember how much we spent though.

Re: If you went to Aruba for a week...
$300-350 at the supermarket for breakfast, lunches, liquor, beer, water bottles, and wine. We stay at a timeshare at the Marriott which has a full kitchen. We spend probably close to $1000-1200 for 7 nights out to dinner. We do tend to go to the nicer restaurants for dinner (we don't lay low any nights with pizza, takeout, grilling, or room service) just so you can gage it.
Roughly $1500, including alcohol.
