If you use sittercity or care.com, do you respond to every person that applies for your job?

I'm getting a mixed bag of candidates. The ones I like, I'm asking for their resume and more detailed info.

The ones I don't like I have no idea what to say... do I just not write back to them?

That's funny I am going through the same thing on care.com

I am not sure if you are really not interested I guess you don't have to write back. and then if they contact you again you could say that you are looking into other applicants right now.

I think I sent a mass e-mail thanking everyone for their interest and that after going through each resume more thoroughly, I'd be getting back to some of them. I forget exactly how I worded it though.

Then, I only contacted the people I wanted to meet for an interview.

Just an FYR... I am on the other side of Care and Sitter City.com and believe me... not everyone sends a response, in fact I think I have only gotten 2 responses with things like we are reviewing all candidates and will keep you posted. Honestly, no one response unless they are usually interested, thats the only times I get responses when they are interested in meeting me or asking additional questions. Hope that helped! Don't feel bad, if you aren't interested in them... they don't know you and will never know hahaha lol

For care.com, they have a "no thank you" message you can reply with. You have to go into your job, then view applicant, then there is the no thanks option.
That being said, I didn't respond to everyone.........

I sent a generic "thank you for responding but the position has been filled" to everyone that I was not interested in.

Do a lot of people put the pay in their ads? I hate that sitter-seekers can't see the ads of other sitter-seekers, I want to see who I'm competing with

Ive only gotten 7 replies in 10 days, but I did respond to everyone. I feel if I applied for a job, its nice to get some feedback. And you never know what the future might bring if everyone else doesnt work out.

I received a ton of responses from my ad, but most did not get a response from me. The reason being: My ad consisted of 3 sentences. One sentence was "Must be available on weekends." Most applicants told me they were only available Mon-Fri. I figured if they didn't have an attention span to read through 3 sentences, they wouldn't have an attention span with my child.

Plus, anybody that applied with a sexy profile picture just made me grumble to myself. Call me prude.

I didn't respond to everyone. The applicants that didn't send me a generic response and actually took the time to write a nice application, I responded to, even if they weren't what I was looking for.
