If you pump to keep a stash
What increments do you freeze your milk ?
I hate freezing a lot of ounces in one bag so I try to split it up into 2 or 3 oz a bag. Just curious what others do.

How old is your LO and how much do they take in now? I am doing an assortment of 5oz, 6oz and 1oz bags. I may add a few 2oz bags in the mix. It is so hard bc I have no clue how many oz DD will be taking in the summer. I know some babes take up to 8oz but some can only handle smaller bottles and need more frequent feedings...which I think is the case for DD. At least now it is!

In the beginning I did 2-3oz increments but then when they started taking bigger bottles I went to mostly 6-8oz.

He's is only a week old and I already have 60 or so oz in the freezer due to him being I the NICU. I figured if I did 3oz bags I can always add them together. I just hate to make bags to big and have to dump milk.

In the beginning we did it in 2 oz increments. By the time he was 5 months old, we did it in 6 oz increments.

In the beginning I did 2 or 3 oz. I would stick with that. DS is almost 6 months now and I only really use my stash to top off. So I would stick with the small amounts and if you need to make a whole bottle just combine ounces.
ETA what I mean by "top off" - I'm back to work and sometimes I don't pump the exact amount my DS needs for his bottles for daycare. Sometimes I'm short an ounce or two. I'll hit my freezer stash for that. It's rare that I need to go to it for a whole bottle. If I do, I just combine.

I always froze in 4 and 5 oz portions. When I defrost a bag, I generally split it up in 2 bottles and mix the frozen with fresh milk.

I always did 4oz.
On another note - Good that you're starting early! My dd is 8 months and I pump at work and my supply is decreasing. I went through all my freezer supply and I wish I had pumped and saved more when I had an oversupply.

I always froze them in 6 oz increments to fill the bag. The milk is good for 24 hours once defrosted, so if you only use 3 oz then use the other 3 for the next bottle. Why would you do it any other way - you are just wasting a ton of bags!

I always used frozen milk - would freeze the milk I pumped each day. Would sometimes leave some fresh if I had an extra ounce or two and didn't want to waste a bag.

ds is 6 weeks but up to 4 oz a bottle already so im doing 6 oz increments.Plus im freezing 45 oz per day so any smaller increments would be crazy amounts of bags
