If you previously had a c-section... - UPDATE

Please calm my fears.

I had a c/s with my DS 19 months ago. I'm now 12 weeks with #2. I've been having some weird pains/cramping and I called my OB yesterday, but she thinks it's just round ligament pain. Ok fine.

Then last night I was woken up 3x in the middle of the night by a very painful tightening/cramping in the right side of my belly. It literally felt like someone grabbed a piece of my insides and squeezed it as tight as possible, held for 1-2 seconds, then released/went away. The first time I was so asleep that I thought maybe I imagined it, but then the same thing happened 2 more times and it hurt.

I never felt anything like that when I was pregnant with DS. I'm HOPING it's just round ligament pain. Maybe it's because I had a c/s before? So it's stretching differently? I have no idea.

I'm not even going to call my OB today because I have my NT scan today. I figure at best she's going to have me come in for a sono, but I'm getting one this afternoon anyway. Maybe someone here has experienced something like this before? I'll be honest, I'm worried.


ETA UPDATE:
Well I went to my NT scan and baby is measuring perfectly, heartbeat is great, moving around like crazy! Baby's measuring almost a week early! So that's good! I'm so happy and releived. I really hope what I'm feeling is just round ligament pain. I never had any this painful with DS, but maybe it's just different this time.

To be honest I haven't experienced anything like that. I do feel like I have had more mild cramping with this pregnancy then my first, especially before 12 weeks. I don't remember it at all with my first pregnancy but the pregs have been entirely different.

But my csection was over 6 years ago, so I probably am not the best person to ask! Yours was way more recently then mine was.

I would definately bring it up today at your appt, especially since you are getting a sono!

I had a csection about 13 months ago and I have noticed a little more pain and cramping this time then last. Sometimes it's just little twinges other times it feels almost like really bad gas pains. Im not sure if it s because of the csection or not though.

My csection was 14 months ago, and ever since I had it, I get sharp pains in my lower pelvis. I had a sono done 6 months postpartum to see if there was scar tissue they said no. Now that I am pregnant I get them a lot, mostly when I move from a laying position to a standing position, rolling in bed, bending over to pick up stuff off the floor. My re said round ligament pain but I know it isn't because I had these pains before getting pg. I truthfully believe there must be scar tissue or something did not heal correctly. Not sure if its the same thing you are feeling.

I felt more pressure during my pregnancy after my first c-section. Around 34 weeks I felt like I was in labor but I wasn't just the pressure from the head near my previous incision but it was a little different from my previous pregnancies. Good Luck

Yup, I feel that too, and this will be my 3rd C! Actually last night I went to turn over in my bed and had the worst pain ever on my left side, like a bad pulling pain! Ive also been very sore in my c-section area ever since my belly started to grow and get bigger! I'm sure it has to do with the previous c's!

I didn't have a c-section with A and have been having the same kind of pain starting my 12-13th week. I am assuming it's round ligament pain since the baby has been doing great. I didn't feel anything like this with my first pregnancy either.
