If you potty trained early...
what was the beginning like? did you keep pushing forward with potty training? how long did it take for the accidents to decrease?
i do know that kids will have accidents at any age that's why i didn't say "accident free".
ds is 24months are we're on day 3. each day has gotten worse so i was looking for advice from those who have been through this and have kept pushing forward.
i am a working mom and i took the week of to potty train so i'm determined to have something worked out by this weekend.

Re: If you potty trained early...
DD i turning 2 in two weeks... I'm determined to really be dilligent about it..esp since I'm pg with #2 and want her out of diapers by then...plus I'm getting pressured from my mom and grandmother to do it since she was basically a year old She does show many signs of readiness, although yesterday she took her diaper off and I went with it...well not 5 minutes later was she literally pooping by our couch, I tried to put her on the potty and she stood up immediately and pooped on the floor and then stepped in it by mistake bc she was running away from me She's also getting her two year molars in and has been nothing short of a nightmare lately so I'm trying ot put it off until that passes... But to answer your actual question I feel like it's going to be accident central for a while and I feel like some days will be good and others awful

Re: If you potty trained early...
Did he show signs of being ready before you started PT him?
My ped said on average most boys are PT by the time they are 3 years 1 month. I know it's been done before then, I just think it's really hard!
Does he tell you when he has to pee?
We PT'd my son right when he turned three. It didn't work. He resisted alot, and was very very angry. I put him back in diapers. A month later he said he didn't want to wear diapers anymore and that was the last of it.
It's true what they say - when they are ready it's not hard to do.

Re: If you potty trained early...
yes he's had just about all the signs of readiness. i don't think that's the issue...i think he's more so being stubborn.
a fellow LI member send me FM (thank you for that) because i took her advice and sure enough i finally got him to pee on the potty today without an accident beforehand. i'm not going to lie and it was a struggle to get him to sit but after about 30sec of fighting with me he gave up and sure enough he peed
i do know that the average age is 3 yrs for boys but i do think mine was ready and to be honest i'd be more nervous and stressed doing it at 3 then 2. i fee they'd be another year into diapers and too comfortable with the diapers. everyone is different though. i'm chosing to do it now and i'm hoping that's in my favor
i also have a (so to be) 9 month old at home so it's definitely a challenge.

That was the hardest part - training him while DS #2 was on the go. Put Jack on the potty - take Tyler out of the bathroom! Good times
Good luck and keep us posted
