If you plan on having more children soon...
Does this influence your registry decisions? I just wonder if I want toTTC for #2 next year (meaning have another one in 2009, not starting tomorrow!), does it make sense to get expensive strollers when they really will be pointless when we have 2 children?

I am pretty much on the same schedule as you. I was planning on getting as many unisex items as possible - bedding, clothing, decorations etc.

Re: If you plan on having more children soon...
We are planning on having another baby pretty soon as well. We are still getting the expensive single stroller, and are registering for a few gender specific things. There will be times that you are only taking 1 baby out, and if I can make motherhood a little easier the first time around, I am definately going to do it.

My girls are only 20 months apart and I always knew I wanted them close. I registered for the Pliko P3 which is pretty expensive. Let me tell you, that's really the only one I use. My older DD, who was 2 in September, walks holding the stroller most places.

I am getting "neutral" highchair, stroller, swing, furniture but when I say neural it may still end up being blue.

Re: If you plan on having more children soon...
We don't have an exact timeframe (just working on getting this one out first ) but we'd like them pretty close in age. We did not find out the sex so everything is neutral regardless but I think makes far more sense to have all the big stuff (highchair, stroller, infant seat, pack n play, et al) in neutral tones. First go around, other people buy you stuff. By the 2nd, esp close in age, not so much and these would be a great expense if everything is bright pink and you find out you're having a boy for the 2nd.

Dh and I plan on trying in a few months and our DD is 3 months old now, we didnt both worrying about it while registering. We figured alot of stuff will get destroyed or gross after being used alot. So we figure it will work out with Baby #2, well get the stuff for them ourselves. plus people always end up buying you stuff for other babies.

Well, when I was registering, I really, really wanted to get the pink pliko3. My DH talked me into getting the toffee colored one...I'm glad he did, we found out a few weeks ago we're having a

I would suggest not changing your registry in hopes of having a second one quickly. It might take you more time to get pregnant then you thought it would. Or you may decide once you have one that you want to wait a little bit longer than you originally planned. I would just focus on the one for now.

My stuff is all neutral anyway as we didn't find out the gender. This baby certainly didn't happen overnight, so I know TTC can take some time. My only thought was that maybe I would skip the $600 stroller and get something more reasonable if there could be a double stroller replacing it next year.

Re: If you plan on having more children soon...
With DS we knew we were having a boy and we registered for all practical things and unisex stuff. Our kids will be 2 years apart and we are good with everything. It just worked out that we are having another boy in the same month.
We registered for the metrolite stroller and will use it with our new little one.
Another good point is that when you have the baby you will be surprised how much stuff you will get, including hand-me-downs. And, one tip - don't be shy about taking them.

It definitely influenced ours. We knew we were having a girl, but knew that we would TTC again soon after, so we picked all gender neutral gear.

same here. We did her bedding/room very girly, but as for the stroller, high chair, swing, car seats, etc they are all neutral.
I'm happy with my decision now that I'm expecting #2 in a few months - I really don't need to buy too much.

Re: If you plan on having more children soon...
Our intention is to be pregnant again in 2-3 years after this one, not as quick as some, but fast enough that it's one of the reasons we aren't all about finding out the sex of this baby. I figure why register for all pink or blue then have the opposite in 3 years and have to re-register all over again. I'd like to try to reuse some of the stuff from this baby.
I know my BFF who has 2 very close -within 15 months had a shower for her first, but not for her second. She bought the 2 baby stroller herself. They didn't plan on having the second so soon, it just happened that way.

Re: If you plan on having more children soon...
It totally influenced mine.... After Miss Kristina arrives, we want to wait about a year, then start TTC so that we can get time to bond with her, and get to know her, and also keep them close in age.
Everything (for the most part) that I got/will be getting is gender neutral. There are a few exceptions tho, but nothing that was too high in price that it would bother me to buy new.
