If you need a LC the first time how about the 2nd?

Background
I initially had a hard time BFing my DS. A LC came to the house at day 5 and diagnosed him as tongued tied and then I got him snipped at day 12. But I called her several times in the first three weeks

So for BTDT moms did you need a LC the second time as well?

I didn't see an LC after the hospital although I probably could've benefited from seeing one the first time around. I definitely struggled with BFing DS1, but was able to work through the issues on my own. I didn't have any issues with DS2 and it was much easier.

With DC #1 I had the worst time in the beginning with re: to BF. I saw the LC every day in the hospital and twice at home and still ended up with mastitis. That said, after 6wks of pure torture something clicked and I was able to continue BF for almost a yr with no more problems. With my second, I saw the LC in the hospital just to make sure I had it right this time. Aside from that it was TOTAL smooth sailing - not one issue at all - so easy, no pain from the day I left the hospital at all! Hopefully it works out like this for you too!

Getting DD1 started was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It was 1000x easier the second time around. DD2 was a pro from birth!

my first ds was tomgue tied too and I lots of trouble bfing him. With the help of a LC I did get him to nurse with out snipping him. I later had him snipped because of his speech when he had his tounsils out

the 2nd time I had twins and one twin was tongue tied too but I had no problem nursing him. I only saw the lacation consulatant in the hospital to learn different positions for nursing tandem.

it was so much easier the second time.

I had a bit of a tough time with both #1 and #2. I thought I knew it all with #2 and wasn't concerned that I didn't get to see the LC in the hospital. Big mistake. I wound up having a very brief meeting with an LC a week later (after much undue stress) and it made all the difference in the world. Different babies can have different issues. I discovered that even when they're as close as two years, you can sorta forget what you're doing in the beginning.

Nope-- DS1 took a few days to catch on to BF, but DS2 BF like a champ from the moment he came out! BF both past 1 yr. :)

The first time I was hellbent on BF and even with the LC's help I couldn't make it work. The second time i had a more of an "If i can, great...if not, it's ok" attitude. Being more relaxed about it the second time around def helped. Honestly the hospital LC gave me so much anxiety about it both times. She was no help.
