Same with mine, but I do make him go through things with me at least twice a year. I hate clutter!

I try to do this also when DH isn't around. Once the weather gets warmer, I'll tackle the mess in the garage.

Re: IF you live with a pack rat....

YUP!! he goes away for work a couple times a year, and i always go through stuff- so far, hes never noticed anything was missing.
i feel a little mean, but hes SO bad that i literally would have no house left if i didn't do it.
Our situation is even worse because we bought his parents house from them, so he grew up here and still has so much stuff from his childhood. hes an only child, and his mom is a packrat, too- so she literally saved everything he had from growing up. every school paper, every stuff animal, every game, evrey book. his old bedroom closet is still full of stuff, as well as a closet under the basement stairs, a workshop, AND our reguar garage... right now its all put away in closets so its not bad. but i would like to have a kid someday, and kids have their own stuff. I keep trying to explain to him that our kid is not gonna want to use his 30 year old stuffed animals, or "Sorry" game....
