If you know me at all you won't be surprised by this...
I can't find any holiday dresses that blow me away. So the search continues. I decided that I would attempt skirts. Find 2 skirts that I love no sweater/shirt that I like to go with it. I want the kids photo taken before Thanksgiving.

I do not want anything on the sweaters (no dogs, mittens, candy cane)

I agree with the dress selection this year- Hideous! Not a fan at all.
I did finally find a skirt, shirt and sweater that I liked- a little more casual than last year but we really don't dress up for the day anyhow.
Here is the skirt that my DD is wearing...
And the sweater would work with your skirts too- it also comes in a nice dark black or a cream.
I also got this shirt for under the sweater- what a preppy girl she will be...
ETA: They are all from Children's Place and every item was on sale- the whole outfit was only $30 and she could wear at least the tops again.

I am not crazy about the stuff out this year either. I am hoping Gap sends out one more holiday selection before Christmas. This is what I ended up with today. I passed the skirt so many times but it grew on me and it looks so cute on her. They also have this outfit in coral but the smallest size for the skirt is a 4/5 in the girls section. I am putting a cream turtleneck on, navy tights and navy suede maryjanes.
