If you have more than 1 pet (dog or cat)..

do you feel closer to one than the other? Sometimes I feel like such a bad "mother". I have 3 - 1 cat and 2 dogs...I love all of "kids", don't get me wrong, they are like my children.

But I have one dog and I am particularly close with, he is my shadow and is very protective of me. Not that I don't love the other one, I love her to death and she is the sweetest thing.

I have 2 dogs. one is my baby(pug). he sleeps with me, he follows me everywhere etc. the 2nd dog, is more of a "family" dog. He's just a mush and we ALL love him. but my pug, is a PIA that only a mommy can love

we have 2 dogs 1 male and 1 female,

Dh has his dog a few yrs b4 we got the other one, but i feel much closier to the one i picked out, i am not sure if it cause we are both girls or if bc i picked her, but she seems so much more lovable and shes like my little sidekick

My first dog, a male, is my shadow. He's mommy's little boy. We got him a friend, a girl and she is much more independent. She loves her daddy very much...she's a daddy's girl.

There are things I love about each one of them, that make them each special. But my boy is my pal for sure, he definiltey loves me more than my girl does so I think it's pretty normal to feel more attached to one pet over another.

It took a while to appreciate the differences b/w the two dogs when we got our second dog.But turns out, after getting to know her better, she actually is more enjoyable in some ways than my boy, and with that I became more attached to her. It did take a bit of time though, but I love her to bits and I love different things about each of them. I love that he is a rough typical boy dog, and she is a sweet gentle girl dog. Their differences are what make them lovable in their own special ways, but yes, my boy has definitely more of a bond with me.

We have 4 cats now - one we just put down today. I will say - my eldest I had before I met Dh and she was my first cat ever. She has a special place in my heart and I always thought she'd be toughest to let go of. I have to say now after putting down one fur-baby (who was always "up there" on my list) - I realize that the sting hurts regardless of how close you feel they are in life. Cherish them all is what I've come to realize. They all have their own unique traits that even my "fav" can't replace. There's still a "hole" in my world - even my "least favorite's" "annoyances" will one day be part of the charm he added to my life. Hope this makes sense...

I have a dog and a cat. I try to give equal attention to both. I feel closer to our kitty because I had her for 10 years she follows me everywhere and we had the dog for 2 years. But I try to play with them as much as I can so there is no feeling of neglect..

we have 2 cats

Pokey is my baby- he is my first pet- I treat him like a child

We got Maggie for him to have a playmate

but she is closer to my DH

We plan on getting a dog - but I am nervous to upset the balance

I have 2 dogs and two cats............

I have very different relationships with each one and they are all special to me in a Specific way.

We first got Mogu....she is the "leader of the house" All 8 lbs and 3 legs of her!!! SHe is a rescue black cat with green eyes and an absolute MUSH!!! Mogu "speaks" to me and sleeps with me every night....Ever since I became pregnant she is even more attached...she follows me everywhere and is a sweet heart.

Milo is our BIG OLD FAT COW!!! He is white with big black cow spots and beautiful green eyesLOL We found him when he was 4 weeks old outside of our apartment and rescued him.... Milo was very sick and it took a while to nurse him back to health but hes a BIG STRONG boy now!!! He is our cuddler and clown

Loki is a 1 year old recsue Terrier/Australian Shepard Mix......DH and I say that Loki saved our life. We got him when we were going through some really difficult times........ We spent hours at the park hiking and playing with him to try and get away from everythign that was going wrong around us. Loki is VERY sensitive and in tune with both of us....he is extremely energetic but can easily snuggle next to you on the counch and fall asleep with you.

THen there is Toro....our 6 month old rescue Rotti/boxer mix......He is our little "Lover".........I have never in my life met a dog that is as big of a mush as he is!!!! He would be the happiest if he could sit in your lap all day and sleep......He is also a BIG KISSER....all day long kissing, kissing, kissing. He has these sweet deep brown chocolate eyes that make you melt on your worse day.


I can honestly say I don't gravitate to one animal more than the other. They all offer such unique qualities that I can get a little bit of somethign from everyone.

I have to say that my pets are my life.....they are amazing little individuals!

I have 2 dogs. I love them differently as they both have totally different personality.

So some days I get drawn to one vs the other and it would be reversed another day.

i loveeeee all 3 cats (all sisters) i feel bad sometimes too cuz DH favors one of them and i favor another and the 3rd we love her too but its just different

I love both my dogs so much, but one of them is a big mush, and I feel like I can relate with him a little better He just loves to be petted and snuggle all the time, and that works for me, whereas the other one is less cuddly and loving and just always wants to jump around and play - she gets along famously with DH, because he always wanted a dog he could roughhouse with. So I don't feel TOO bad favoring the one, since DH favors the other.

I have a 4 year old cat, Banshee and a 8 month old dog, Captain. I love both of them, but my cat is my girl. Her and her brother (My late Leppy) were my babies before I had a human baby, lol.

On the flip side, my dog, The Captain, is DH's BFF. So it's fair in the house, lol!!!

i have boo boo that i could say i am a little closer with only because he is 16 and my dog i had with keith. plus the fact he is so old i am very worried about him all the time.

I have two cats with two different personalities.

One Cat needs to be with people and the other Cat only needs people to feed her.

Love them both!
