If you have gotten blood work done directly at the lab.....
What was your experience? Was there a long wait? Did you make an appointment ahead of time, or just walk in? Thanks ladies!
Everything's going well so far.. still waiting for the results of first beta but I need to figure out where and how to schedule the second one- hence my lab question!

Re: If you have gotten blood work done directly at the lab.....
I've used Quest. I make an appt but find that it doesn't seem to matter because they also take walk-ins. Usually my wait is about 10 minutes past my appt time but once I'm in, it's pretty quick.
I think Fridays are a pretty busy day at the labs for some reason so I try to avoid going on Friday mornings.

Thanks!! I wanted to try making an appt at labs that were pretty convenient for me but I saw they were all booked until 7:30am (I would need to get there at 6:00 or close to it) .... If I just walk in, will I have to wait very long since it appears that they're booked?
Just in case I did make an appt at a less convenient lab.....
What do you think?

Re: If you have gotten blood work done directly at the lab.....
From what I have seen, they take them first come, first serve. At the two I go to, you sign in when you come in and the techs appear to take people in order on the list. So I've made 6:30am appts and walked in at 6:25 to find several people ahead of me. There's only been one time when the wait was really long and that was a Friday and we made the appt for 7:30am. The room was packed.
If you can get there early, I'd say give it a shot.

I would just walk in, and only have to wait like 20-30 mins. The appts were always already booked for the time slots I needed.
Goodluck!! I am sure the beta results will be great!!!

It really depends ont he lab. I went to Quest in Babylon and waited 3 hours before I walked out. Now I go to Quest in Bethpage and am in and out in no more than 15 minutes, with or without an appointment.

Re: If you have gotten blood work done directly at the lab.....
I made an appointment online through Quest. Dr. B's office told me all I needed was to give them the script and make an appt through Quest. It looked as though the ones I looked at, the only appts open started at 7:00am and like every 15 minutes you could make an appt.
Here's the website:
Quest Diagnostics
Good luck!!!!!
