If you have a short LP...
do you think you would be able to detect a pregnancy earlier than those with a longer LP?

Re: If you have a short LP...
not really sure i think that is a great question
and i think it depends on how short LP is i mean, do you mean 10 days, 8 days
i have a LONG LP - always 16 days so i always felt like i'd have to wait longer, but i got my BFP at 9 dpo so I dont know
i think it really matters when implantation occurs, which is when your body starts to produce HCG

i have to ask....how do you know how long your LP is??? well, your LP is the # of days from Ovulation until you get your period again so, if you chart, you definitely know when you ovulate
if you use OPK's, you have a pretty good estimate (within 36hrs or so)

I'm kind of torn on the subject.
The tests like FRER say that you can test 5 days before your missed period, so if your LP is 10 days, then you can test at 6 dpo IN THEORY.
On the other hand, I don't see why it would be different in terms of HCG and implantation, which makes me think that you couldn't detect it earlier.

You're right. Your LP makes no difference. It takes an embryo roughly 5-6 days to itravel down the fallopian tube, a dayt or two to bounch around and find a place to implant and maybe a day or two to start producing hcg at the earliest.

i agree with this. i have a short LP and i got my BFP at 10DPO - no earlier than a lot of other women on this baord.

same here, except I tested on 11DPO. I think the only difference that it makes is that you'll be 'late' earlier than most women. I didn't test until the day after my period was due.
