how do you determine what day you O?

If you get your smiley 12 to 36 hours before you O, that's a big window.

I got my smiley last night and I tested again this AM, and it was there. I don't want to keep wasting tests to determine if I am still surging, because I am hoping next month-- I will just use up my supply and not have to buy them again, but that's another story.

So, do you work backwards based on when you get your period, and how long your LP phase?

Or do you guesstimate based on when you get a positive OPK and other symptoms. i.e. O cramps.

if i got a positive OPK this afternoon... i would assume that i O tomorrow... and then next day would be 1DPO

i did temping, opk's etc. and they seemed to drive me a bit nutty. so my dr. and i did some basic math at an appt. my cycles are around 26 days. Subtract 14 (for LP) and thats 12. Just in case that math is off for various reasons we go 4 days on either side. For example, we usually start BD on CD8 and go until CD16 with BD at least every other day if not more. I also listen to my body and if i feel like im o'ing. Last month we got a BFP (which didnt last long) and we did not do anything but BD a lot and have a good time, we went away so it was fun!

For me, i usually feel when i'm ovulating. I always have.

but to be sure, i also plugged in my info into mymonthlycycles.com and they gave me my fertile window (which i already knew). So we made sure to BD every day during that time.
