If you BF and are giving solids...

If you BF and give solids can you post your schedule? How many times a day are you BFing your baby and how old is your LO? DD is 7 months and is nursing 4x a day. Sometimes 5x if she is crabby or looking for an extra snack. Anyway I hope that is enough…I feel like she is going 5 hours between nursing sessions is that ok? I am just nervous she is going to get dehydrated, esp in the summer months so maybe I should add a feeding in somewhere?

Here is our schedule….this sort of just fell into place ones day after trying different things. I used to always nurse her first and then give solids but I found she wasn't that hungry after her naps and would pull off me all the time. So now I give 2-3 oz of solids and that seems like enough. Then she nurses well right before her nap.

8:00am - Nurse
10:30am - Nurse
11:00am- Nap
12:30/1pm - Lunch/solids
3:30pm - Nurse
4:00pm - Nap
5:00pm - Up from nap
6:00pm - Dinner/solids
8:00pm - Nurse

These are all approximate times.

My DD is also 7 months. This is her rough schedule:

7:00 am - Nurse (this is her best nursing session of the day)
8:00 am - Breakfast/solids
9:00 am - Nap
11:00 am - Nurse
12:45 pm - Nurse (more of a snack)
1:00 pm - Nap
3:00 pm - Nurse
5:00 pm - Dinner/solids
6:15 pm - Nurse
6:30 - Bed

It's pretty similar to your schedule, actually!

ETA: DD frequently wakes up in the middle of the night for a feeding as well (anywhere from like 2:30-5:30 am). We had eliminated the feeding for like 3 weeks and then she started up needing it again!

DS is 7 months and here is his schedule (times are definitely approximate!):

6:30 nurse, and go back to sleep until 7:30/8:00

10:00 nurse

10:15-11:45 nap

1:30 nurse

3:00-4:30 nap

4:30 nurse

6:00 dinner (3-4 ounces of solids)

8:00 nurse to sleep

He also gets up anywhere between 1:30 and 3:30 am to nurse.

I have tried adding in breakfast around 9:00am but he has absolutely no interest. I am thinking of trying to add in lunch this week, but not sure when I will do it...either 12:45 or 2:15. I have to see what works better for him and for my schedule with my older DD too.

Bump

Thx for your help so far! Still looking for more input. I nurse DD 4x a day but may add back in another "snack" somewhere.

This is approximate, and my son nurses a little more because of his insanely early wake up (I feel like in the mornings all we do is nurse). He's also 7 months:

4:45 - Wake up & Nurse

7:15 - Nurse

7:30 - 8 Nap for 1/2hr

8:30 - Depending on him, this nurse is sometimes omitted

9:00 - Breakfast

10-10:30 - Nap for 1 - 1 1/2

12:30-1 - Nurse and Lunch

2:30-3 - Nap for 1 - 1 1/2

4:30-5 - Nurse

6:00 - Dinner

7:30 Nurse and sleep.

Then we are up about 2-4 times at night, sometimes to nurse, sometimes to say hey, what's up.

My DD will be 7 months old in a few days and she also only gets BM four times a day. Here's our schedule:

8am Nurse
10am Oatmeal and fruit
12pm Nurse (or 7oz. bottle of BM if it's a work day)
4pm Nurse (or 7 oz. bottle of BM if it's a work day)
6:30pm Oatmeal and veggies
7:30 Nurse
