Well I wasnt tipping anyone. Dh gave me a guilt trip. We tipped the mailman $20. He must have thanked me 20 times. The garbage men, yeah, they can go suck a fat one. When my pails are actually left at my driveway, maybe i will tip them. Instead every mon and thurs im on a hunt down the block.

we gave our mailman a $5 starbucks gc, and a $5 dunkin donuts gc.... figured he could take his pick of cheap or fancy 
the garbage men.... we have Waste Management ( not town employees). i tried to leave them a 6 pack of beer with a card attached to it. they took the card, but put the beer back on our front steps. not sure if they're not allowed to take alcohol, or not allowed to take "tip" in general. oh well, i tried!!

We gave $50 for the mail carrier and $150 for the garbage truck (3 guys) plus DH tips the recycling truck too. I think that was $60 (3 people on that truck).

Zero and Zero. When I was a mailman I got nothing. NYers are really good tippers. CA aren't.

I def agree with this we bought our home in jan and when we moved in my husband gave them 60 since we knew we would have alot of garbage and they suck still didnt take it all so I am not giving them anything

Mailman - $50.00 (just cuz DH is a mailman & mom & brother in law works for the USPS also)
Garbage men - NONE (since they always leave my garbage pail at a different address and I have to hunt my pail down)

Mailman - $10. It's not a walking route, he stays in his car all day so I thought $10 was good. If it was a walking route $20.
