If you are delaying/splitting vaccines, please post your schedule

I tried to use the search feature to find some delayed schedules and found the recent post on Dr Sear's alternate schedule... but I was just wondering what some actual Mom's have chosen to give vs delay or decline?

For now I am going to delay the rotovirus...

I went by my ped's recommended schedule (which is a slightly delayed schedule, but not much).

Their practice did not give the rotovirus vaccine for some reason.

The only ones I've delayed from the practice's schedule are chicken pox & MMR. She was supposed to get both at 15 months...I gave chicken pox at 17.5 months, and still haven't given MMR. I will give MMR after she turns 2.

i delayed as i wanted.. there was no schedule what-so-ever... i did NOT give the Rotovirus and there was one other one i did NOT give... i have to look back on his charts to see which other one i didnt give.

i gave the MMR at 18 months and only gave him 1 shot per visit.

hes 21 months now and just got a 15 month shot saturday... we go about once a month to get a shot for him.. to play catch up bc in Sept he starts pre-school so he needs to be up to date.

Denied Hep B at birth, and will continue to do so until he goes to school.

Denied Rotavirus drink.

My schedule is based on Dr. Sears, but adjusted because I started vaccines before I read his schedule :/

I gave HIB & Polio at 2 months & DTaP at 3 months.


Will give PCV (pnemoniccal) at 4 months.

Then I want to:

HIB - 5 mo
DTaP-6 mo
PCV-7 mo
HIB - 8 mo
Polio - 9 mo
DTap- 10 mo.
PCV - 11 mo.

and so on. I also want to delay MMR as long as possible.

I'm in the process of switching peds because his current one told me she was ok with delaying, but then she turned around and said only the first round of shots. So next time she wants to give him a combo with DTaP, HIB and Polio or PCV..I think that's way too much for one day. So we have to find someone new now

I did not give Rotovirus, which Dr. Sears does recommend.

The rest I just used his alt schedule.

He feels it's very important for a baby to get DTAP at 2, 4, 6 mths b/c it's the most common (pertussis) and the most dangerous. He pairs Rotovirus with the DTAP.

He also feels the PC (Pneumoccocal) is very important as it's a common bacteria and the #1 cause of infant meningitis/pneumonia.

And HIB, although uncommon right now, is a deadly disease that according to my ped (and a story I saw on the news), is making a comeback.

So he recommends the HIB and PC at 3, 5, 7 mths.

Those are the main ones Dr. Sears feels strongly about infants getting and getting at the above times. I have to say I agree. So that's what I did.

This way only 2 shots a mth.
