If you and your DH/SO could go anywhere for a romantic week...

Where would you go? Trying to make plans for our 10 yr anniversary...being that we have 4 kids, we will not have this type of getaway for a very long time, so I want to go somewhere really nice! Was thinking of going back to Sandals St Lucia (where we went on our honeymoon) but there are so many more awesome places!

Where would you go? If you have names of specific hotels too, that would be great!

Any of the Excellence resorts. There are two in Mexico and one in Punta Cana; have been to all of them and you cannot go wrong - simply stunning!!!!

Re: If you and your DH/SO could go anywhere for a romantic week...

We're actually planning to go away for a week in February. We really want to do an all-inclusive, these are the places I've looked into so far:

Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort - St. Lucia

Renaissance Aruba Resort

Occidental Grand Aruba

We went to the RIU in Aruba for our honeymoon and LOVED it! Unfortunately it's sold out for the dates we want.

I've also read great things about St. Bart's but it seems a little pricey.

If money was no option, I'd love to go to Hawaii or Italy!

We love bermuda. We have been there 3 times within the past year. The last time we stayed at Rosewood tucker's Point and it is just absolutely beautiful.

Probably back to Jamaica. It was so laid back and beautiful. We stayed at Couples Swept Away. The beach was amazing- it was like stepping into a warm bath.

I would do the Occidental in Aruba. I just think the location is better then the Renaissance.

I stopped paying attention after I read you have FOUR children and are planning A WEEK away! My 10th anniversary is in March, I have one less kid, four living and very local grandparents and I'm desperately trying to cobble three nights away to celebrate. Jealous, jealous, jealous!!! Chat Icon

I have a thing where I can't get on a plane without my kids (because I'm half a lunatic), so I'm thinking of Greenport or maybe Newport, RI. In other circumstances (if I weren't half a lunatic) I think Napa sounds awesome for a couples getaway!

Wherever you go...enjoy!

haha...its not for a year and a half...and my parents are insane and completely the absolute best!!!!

I have the same feeling as you about going away on a plane...But I have been thinking about this vacation for the past year, and I am trying really really really hard to make myself do it!!! We shall see when the time comes, but I hope I have the guts to do it.

ETA: Plus my plan is to have a sitter come for 8 hours a day, mon-fri, just to give my parents a little room to breath, though they do not agree with this. We shall see what happens!

Ambergis Caye in Belize! We stayed at Pelican Reef Villas for our honeymoon 5 yrs ago. It's beautiful and there are so many fantastic restaurants. It's a very small island and people get around by golf cart, not cars. There are amazing snorkeling trips at a huge reef. You can also see the mayan ruins which you get to through jungle by boat. A lot of beautiful, fun and romantic things to do!

We stayed at the renaissance back in 2006 and LOVED IT! I loved the location because we were able to walk to alot. THe only negative (depending on what you are looking for) is the hotel is not ON the beach, its in downtown on the marina. So to get to the beach they have a boat that drives into the hotel and takes you to a private island which was so nice IMO. They had a family beach and adult beach. Food place on the island and tons of flamingos which was fun to see!

This. But I stayed at Portofino.

Def not a big hotel chain type of place. Its a get away from the world type of place.

Haha, we are doing a Disney cruise for our 10 year. I had dreams of someplace romantic too. Eventually we will do something like that, maybe for my 40th.

To the OP I would say Turks and Caicos or a smaller less popular Bahama Island.
